Our budgie like to roll these around on the floor...all over the house. We only had one and he was always losing it under the sofa or whatever. Now we have 13 of 'em and that problem is solved without breaking the bank.
I bought these for a parakeet named Sunshine. She loves the yellow color and little holes, which enable her to grab it by her beak or claw. She hits it, kicks it, tosses it, all the while chattering and trilling to it. I also used one to make a hanging toy with beads and leather strips. She likes to beat and whack that one. None of the balls have sustained any damage. A great product with multiple uses.
I purchased these along with the "lightning rod" bat to work on my hand-eye cordination. The balls are durable and have stood up to 9 months of weekly training so far. I have only cracked two balls slightly but the rest are in good shape. They handle well in the wind when pitching and don't travel too far making pickup easy. My only suggestion would be to use them where grass is kept cut low. They tend to dissappear easily in medium/high grass because of size and blend in well with yellow dandelions making them hard to spot when picking up. Other than that, I can't complain. Descent price.
These practice balls are exactly what I needed. I bought the Lightning Rod practice bat and it came with 3 balls. We needed more than 3 to get into a rhythm. Great buy.
These are the best golf practice balls ever. I've used them for years. They are slightly smaller than a real golf ball which makes you focus. I use them to hit full wedge shots in my back yard. They have a solid hard "click" when properly struck. Full wedge shots will fly between 50 to 90 feet depending on the contact and the club used. Because of their thickness and weight (heaver than regular whiffle balls) you almost get the feeling of a real golf shot, but they are light enough to be safe around cars and windows. They're durable, they fly true, and you can even effectively work your shots with them. I buy these any time I can catch them at a good price, and that's typically only at Walmart.
I use these plastic balls to construct toys for companion birds. They're sturdy although they will ultimately yield to the large beaks of macaws and cockatoos. They come packaged in a net bag which can be re-used. The balls are divided into two (2) hemispheres. Each hemisphere has thirteen (13) holes: one (1) hole at the very top of the orb, four (4) along the upper portion and eight (8) in a line close to the dividing line between each half. The holes along the dividing line are not evenly spaced - something I'm sure has to do with their performance as practice golf balls - and cause minor cosmetic issues with completed toys. The cosmetic shortfall is of no problem to the birds, but does affect the selling price for the toy - which is why I'm deducting one star from a perfect rating.
We compared the SKLZ to the practice wiffle golf balls and for half the price you get twice the balls. Buy the golf wiffle balls - they're the same, just white!!
I purchased these balls to practice hitting balls instead of hitting leaves. I take 100 full practice swings a day, every day and hitting these balls vs a leaf (or whatever) seems to be working very well for me. I bought 36 balls to start and after a couple of days being hit they are already starting to crack. Not all of them and they are still useable. I'm using a 3 iron or longer club and I suppose they would hold up better if I used just a wedge. Regardless, they're an okay value and better than nothing.
