I am a patient. I have been on oxygen for about 5 months. My Rx is for 2 lpm continuous. When at home I drag a 50 ft tube around fed by a concentrator plugged into the wall. When I go out for my walks with my wife, I use this unit attached to an M6 cylinder in a back pack. My setting is 3, which I learned by trial and error involving frequent measurements during walks with a finger oximeter. At this setting, I can go up shallow but long inclines, or short but steep hills, and I am always saturated (90% or better). My walks end with a one-story stair climb, by the way. One irritating feature: beloved unit picks up on the rhythm of my breathing, and then doesn't listen to me anymore. If I change or interrupt my rhythm, I could miss four boluses in a row. Either I get back in rhythm, or wait for the machine to signal it is shutting down, after which it again responds to my breathing. This happens at least once, and sometimes twice, during a walk. Anyway, for me the M6 cylinder lasts 2 hours plus a 20 minute reserve. A typical walk for me is 45 minutes (1.6 miles) , so I can do 2 walks on an M6 cylinder with 20 minutes in hand. It is easy to use, and I like it very much.
