I have really enjoyed not having to use charcoal propane the smoker makes it easy to smoke meat fish vegetables not a problem.
Easy to use, cooks perfectly, easy to assemble and clean.
WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THE SMOKER, MOSTLY BECAUSE WE WANTED GOOD TENDER SMOKE TURKEY. THE SMOKER WAS FIRST USED ON A BUTTERBALL YOUNG TURKEY. THE TIMEING WAS ABOUT 9 HOURS. A PAN FOR A ROASTER PAN THAT FITS, IS A CHEAP THROW A WAY TYPE PAN. THE TURKEY WAS DONE & TENDER & JUICY, IN ABOUT 9 HOURS, LIKE THE TIME IS WHEN YOU READ IT. THE WOOD IS WOOD CHIPS & FLAVORS ARE APPLE, CHERRY, MESQUITE & HICKORY, TO MAKE IT GOOD. IT WAS BRINE SOAKED, THAWED IN BRINE, & SOME APPLE PIECES PLACED IN TURKEY & MANDARIN ORANGE POURED ON IT & THEN THE REST OF THE ORANGE DUMPED INSIDE TURKEY. I ALSO, USED A SMALL CAN OF RED WINE SPRITZER & BASTED THE TURKEY & POURED IT INSIDE THE TURKEY. THE TURKEY WAS BASTED A FEW TIMES WITH OLIVE OIL. WATER WAS ADDED A COUPLE OF TIMES. IT CAME OUT TASTING VERY GOOD, AND SMOKE FLAVOR GOOD. I DID NOT CHECK THE TURKEY TEMPERATURE EVERY 30 MINUTES. I DON'T BELIEVE IN OPENING & CLOSING THE SMOKER THAT MUCH & POKING THE TURKEY THAT MUCH. NEAR THE END OF THE SMOKING TIME, I CHECKED THE TEMPERATURE & IT WAS ABOUT 165 DEGREES AT ABOUT 7 HOURS. THAT WAS NEAR THE TEMPERATURE DESIRED BUT NOT ALL THE WAY. I CHECKED IT A COUPLE OF TIMES BETWEEN 7 & 9 HOURS.. LIKE I SAID, I DID ADD WATER A COUPLE OF TIMES. MY SMOKING CHIPS WERE SOADED IN WATER AN HOUR OR SO BEFORE STARTING. I DID NOT NEED TO PUT WATER OR ANYTHING TENDING TO THEM. THEY WERE JUST OKAY. THE SMOKER WORKS WITH THE TIMELINESS & TEMPERATURE IT SAIYS. IF YOU READ, IT WORKS LIKE IT SAYS FOR IT'S TIMELINESS & TEMP. OUR TURKEY WAS GOOD. THE SMOKER WORKS. THE DAY WAS KINDA A 70 DEGREE DAY. IT WENT TO MIDNITE, TO GET DONE.
I have used this smoker several times now and am very pleased with it. the ribs were done at the approximate time they were supposed to be and were extremely tasty and tender.
My husband has been wanting a smoker for a while now. When I brought this one home he was so excited. When setting up, there was some assembly required. It took him about an hour, but wasn't too difficult. It was easy to use, but smoking anything does take time. He smoked pork for 14 hours, so it is a commitment, but well worth it. The pulled pork was AMAZING. Next time we will smoke more than just the one item. He did say that it uses up wood chips pretty fast and he made the mistake of letting it sit before cleaning. Clean up ended up being a little more difficult than expected, but if it had been done sooner, would have been fine. A friend of our borrowed it and said it was so much easier than his regular smoker, and mentioned wanting to get one as well.
Works Great for the money only thing bottom rack has screws that you have take out to clean . Other than we love it.
I love this product, although the wood chips I purchase didn't really know how they work so I put lighter fluid on them to get it started. once I removed the pan from under the meat the drippings of the meat got it smoking good. I wonder if I can use coals and wood chips together to really get it smoking. Im going to use a larger smoke pan next time I use it. The more the merrier. Oh by the way my 8yr old daughter and myself put it together.
The electric smoker (Smoke Hollow) digital reader and temp buttons are easy to use and overall its easy to assemble, minimum tools required. Instructions were easy to read and understand. The glass front is handy to be able to quickly check on the progress of your food. When using the smoker, I had adequate space for a 24 lb. turkey. The turkey was delicious, however the smoker didn’t hold the heat in as I expected. The temperature would fluctuate 30 degrees throughout a seven hour process. The digital control board also will not allow you to adjust the temperature when in use, so I would have to disconnect power and reset the temperature and clock. I also smoked brisket in this unit and it came out juicy but not as tender as I would have hoped. The drip tray could be a little bigger as we had issues with juice dripping to the bottom of the unit. It would be helpful if the unit was easier to move while in use as we had to move it and it was very difficult to keep the juice from splashing everywhere. Overall I think the Smoke Hollow smoker is a decent buy.
We thought it would be like our last digital, electric smoker, purchased from Walmart. We returned it promptly when we opened the box. With this smoker, I would have to constantly regulate the temp., which defeats the convenience of an electric smoker. Secondly, All the pieces had to be installed from her the door handle, dial, heating element., and many more. I found a better deal easily.
Receive my smoker today and after taken it out of the box, it is damage, the case is bent. This is a large items, and after taking it out of the box the last thing I want to do is have to box it back up and ship it back. I may not replace just return.
