So far, used this on 5" and it is surprisingly powerful. Threw the snow at least 20'. The clean out tool definitely helped clean the ice build up in between my breaks. And the cover is adjustable so it fits perfectly and keeps the unit dust-free and ready to use any time. I paid $175 for this bundle, so $119 is a steal. Would definitely recommend. I have a pole saw from Sun Joe (same company), and so far I'm impressed with their tools.
I recently had the opportunity to try out this product on about 6 or7 inches of light fluffy snow that had sat for an entire day. Even though it was no longer exactly light and fluffy, the Snow Joe made short work of it. I am pleased with its performance and highly recommend it to anyone, like me, who are past the point of easily handling a snow shovel. The only recommendation I would make, as far as improving the unit, would be to have the handle maybe 6 or 8 inches longer.
I was very surprised at how well this snow blower handled the last snow storm. We had between 6-8 inches of snow and it cleared it quickly. Besides my home I used it to clear the walkways at my church. What took over an hour in the past I got done in 45 minutes. It is very light. I am very pleased.
Finally got to use this after the east coast snow storm. It was easy and quick to assemble. Worked great on the thick heavy snow and was light and easy to maneuver. Great item for the money!
I bought this as a backup to a full sized gas powered snow plow that has always been hard for me to manage alone. My first impressions as I was putting Snow Joe together was the blades were plastic...well the first big snowfall (8-10") came through yesterday and this powered through everything including my snow plowed in driveway apron. I was able to maneuver with little effort. Make sure you have a long enough extension cord to reach all areas. Well above my expectations and the price point made it even better! Highly recommend!!!
Used the SJ615E to clear my deck... 18" all over with drifts way over that. The lowest snow was higher than the handle on the chute and the deepest was well above the chute. It handled it all easily, with just occasional slowing of the auger speed when I pushed too fast. Truly a great little machine. Left the deck bare to the wood. Only problem we've had is missing the mount for the Clean Out Tool in the bundle package. Still waiting for SnowJoe Customer Service to send the missing parts after 3 weeks.
It has not snowed yet, so I can't comment on its ability to move snow. But it sure looks like it will do the job on my modest size driveway and walkway. The snow blower came almost fully assembled, and the few parts that needed to be added attached quickly and without issues. The manufacturer took time to set things up so that the purchaser would have an easy time assembling it. It also came with a very substantial cover and a chute clearing tool. There is also a built-in handle which is a nice plus. I did get the blower on sale for $88 in February, which helped me decide to purchase it. Four stars only because it still has not had to show its performance in moving snow, but I have no doubt it will make driveway and walkway clearing much less of a chore than with a shovel. I purchased a proper 50 foot electrical cord, since one is not included in the package.
Nice, lightweight, and easy to put together. Needs mount on which to store the cleaning tool.
defective deflector chute, difficult to tighten, the knob is not easy to grip the chute. I really have to place ductape to stay in place.
I spent more time clearing our the discharge shute than I did blowing snow. After a couple of passes the small plastic wheels slid on the pavement rather than roll. I tried spraying WD 40 in the shute but that didn't seem to help. Possibly in a colder climate where the snow is not so wet and heavy This blower might work better.
