the regular capacity battery falls short for my snow blowing needs, but the extra capacity version does the job without petering out...
I bought a SnowJoe ION18SB-Pro (40v) with the 5ah battery, and wanted an extra battery and the noticed they didn't have a 5ah battery, but a 6ah battery. I have a small 3 car garage driveway in a subdivision, so when it snows, I don't spend hours clearing the snow, but I have left the battery in the machine after clearing the driveway in the morning, then having to clear the driveway again when I got home. And the battery lasted beyond that. And it's rated for 8" deep snow, but I know I plow through 10" of snow just fine. It will stop when I push it too hard but starts right back up just fine. I love this snowblower and the power of the battery is awesome.
Our first major snow fall -- 13cm. This battery did the job with still 2 bars left.My old 4A battery would barely get the job done. Very happy with the new battery
No fumes and quiet.Never have to change the oil or mix gas.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We had the regular 40V-4A batteries - which did fine, but 40 minutes sometimes just isn't enough especially in our area OR when the snow is really heavy or temperatures dip below -15/-20 Celsius. These new batteries rated at approx 70 minutes certainly make a difference.
I highly recommend Snow Joe . This product is very handy to have in your home when it comes to clean dirt off around your home and vehicles.
The battery does as advertised. It came well wrapped up; promptly, and I hope it propels my Sun Joe electric lawnmower for many years to come. John E.
Snow thrower powered through 38 inches of snow in one storm. I have a three car wide driveway. Two car long. Recharged once with second set of batteries. This was a crazy storm. Otherwise smaller storms I do not need to recharge. Recharge time about 4 hours on downside.
Backup battery for my self-propelled Snow Joe snow blower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Purchased the 2 stage snow blower go to eco friendly 5 years ago. The battery were expensive. I bought four battery which cost more than the snow blower itself. Off all the battery that i used for 5 years, one is dead and no longer usable. The other three still hold charge, but will not last more than 30 minutes. These battery are not used constantly maybe, only two times a year for snowfall. You would think these battery would last longer with intermittent used and were properly store in cool place in the baseman. Snow Joe should look deeper into their battery quality. My dewalt 20v battery still last till this day with everyday used for the past 8 years. Shame on Snow joe battery which is a big failure for such an expensive battery.
