I love that it doesn't take power or batteries, i usually drink a can of pop between each bottle of water to encourage myself to stay hydrated. So this saves me a LOT of money. If you get the name brand syrups (Pepsi, Starry. Mt Dew) they taste the EXACT same.
Amazing gadget, saves me so much money and saves me having to recycle plastic, and its healthier and tastier than other sparkling drinks or sodas! I love that it's wire free and portable. I can move it anywhere in my kitchen.
SodaStream is a great tool for making fresh soda at home easily. It is extremely user friendly, and in just a few minutes I can enjoy sparkling drinks at home. The freedom to create my own sparkling drinks, depending on my mood and preferences is really fun and simple to do. I am becoming a soda lover thanks to SodaStream, it is a fun and cheap way to enjoy my favorite drinks and completely cut out the store bought options. If you love suds and want to save money, this is the perfect solution!
Pros:It's pretty straightforward and easy to use. The CO2 cylinder last a long time. Cons: Fizz doesn't last as long as a regular soda, nor is as strong. I prefer 5-6 pumps. (Wait till the hiss stops before you do more than 5 pumps.) Also, I wish there were instructions for the other size bottles. Just gotta do a hit 'n miss on those.
The design is very visually appealing. We love that the sodastream doesn't require any outlets. The tricky part is getting the correct amount of carbonation in the water and the correct amount of syrup to make the drinks taste equivalent to their fountain counterparts. We have tried the Mt. Dew and Dr "Pete" so far and are pretty impressed!
I gave this three stars mainly because when my son opened up his gift Christmas morning, the CO2 cartridge was missing. The kit stated sparkling water maker, CO2 cylinder, and 1L BPA free bottle was included in the box. The baffling part is the box didn't look like it had been opened, but there also wasn't any sealing tape over the tabs. I am hoping Walmart will correct this very disappointing discovery. Now my son has the corresponding two extra bottles and root beer soda stream that he can't use until we replace the kit for a kit that includes all the listed items.
I love the idea of this product but mine just collects dust. If you're buying this to replace the cans you would buy at the grocery store, you're going to be disappointed. The carbonation is weak compared to store cans. The flavors available are not very good either. If you want just straight sparkling water and you're not picky, you may like this.
Highly recommended if you like sparkling water. Like that we can control how much bubbles to add. We purchased this because the cost of CRV has gone up. Kids like the soda syrup option. We like it because we can control how much syrup to add. Easy to clean and maintain. The only thing is the cost of each canister has gone up and I don't know if this is worth it anymore.
This SodaStream version was easy to set up and it's easy to use. It requires no power source. I've had it only a little over a month so I'm not sure yet how often the cartridge will need to be replaced and how much that's going to cost. Also, my family who bought it for me included so many Bubly drops that I'll probably never need more. Anyway, it's easy to use and cheaper than buying cans of soda water. I'm doing much better at staying hydrated. And the other night we had guests for dinner and several of us enjoyed just having plain bubbly water with the meal.
I liked the convenience and not having to accumulate trash plastic soda bottles for recycling. Despite using the max number of times,5, the water still didn’t have good carbonation and was all but flat in a couple days. Overall I’m disappointed. Maybe the electric version would be better but this manual version I cannot recommend. And at 5 spritzes a bottle, that $30 can of gas isn’t going to yield much.
