The operation of this solar power system is easy and versital. Love the expandability of being able to connect additional solar panels and batteries. Overall I am very happy with it. However, logistics in moving it around is little bit cumbersome due to its weight of just over 120 pounds. Two suggestions I have for improvement on this aspect woud be to make larger diameter wheels and a beefier pulling handle. The handle on it now is weak and something fitting for a small carry on luggage suitcase. Improve the portability and you have a real winner!!
My wife and I asked ourselves, in the event of an extended power outage lasting for months, what would we miss the most? Electricity and light. (We already have plenty of food, water, and other essentials.) We did some serious shopping for affordable, backup power and the Wagan Cube was the best choice. We've configured the Wagan Cube to be a backup, household power supply in the event of a major, prolonged power outage. We placed the Cube in our basement, added 2 additional batteries, as the manual explained how to do, and strung power cords from the basement to the upper floor of the home, to supply electricity to our living spaces. This effectively immobilized the Cube rendering its onboard solar panels unusable. To be able to recharge it with solar panels, we purchased more powerful, separate solar panels, wires, and connectors so that we can place the panels outside in the sun and charge the Cube in the basement. A local power company, it's not, but with extra batteries, it can provide household power needs for a long time. For instance, it can power our little freezer in the basement for 23 hours. Considering how much power rotating motors require, that's impressive. By my calculations, if all we used was white, LED lights for power in the upstairs of our home, we would have light continuously for about 3 days. So, if an enemy hacks the nation's power grid, or we have a solar event that damages the power grid for months, we'll have electricity for lights, some cooking and food preparation, our electric tooth brushes, and to recharge our cell phone just in case the cell system still works. That's just the short list. We have a lot of small appliances that we do not want to be without. The Wagan Cube gives us staying power.
There is nothing else like it for a portable, "all in one" unit. I also bought one of your folding 120v solar panels to shorten its recharge time even more. Together, it should be standard equipment to every home owner who has ever experienced power outages for any length of time. Also great for camping, RVs, and remote power requiements.
