I Love this table. it has lots of storage. Table is a very nice size work area.
this product showed up in great condition and went together with little to no trouble very solid unit. Good buy for the money
My 11-year-old daughter and I love this table. It has plenty of storage and wide enough to be used for different crafts. I wanted to buy a computer desk for her initially, but this table is so much better. The packaging was very good, the table didn't get damaged during the delivery. It took me about 4 hours to put it together, but I was doing it slowly and also watching a movie. At the end, I had to ask my husband to help because you need two people to connect the top of the desk to the sides. It was easy to connect parts with the provided locks, we only used a drill to connect doors. The table is steady, so we hope it will last for a long time. Thank you OJ Commerce!!!
This is a nice looking table, and approximately the size of a desk. The opening fits a full-sized chair and if you (like me) can't find things in drawers and would prefer to use cubbies, baskets and slots, this is a nice organizational center for any kind of work. As a craft table it's narrow, but I couldn't find one the size I wanted (54 x 54 at regular chair height with 4 chair spots) for a reasonable price so I decided to go with two of these for a space I crop in (scrapbook) with my mother and daughters. Technically you can fit a chair on each side of this "table" (it still looks more like a desk to me) but you have to be okay with occasional knocked knees. I can't mark the item down for this because it's exactly as described, but I would have liked it wider. Just sayin'. Craft tables often have multiple chairs. Other than that, it's perfect. Made of particle board but there are no nicks or chips and the finishing on this one (compared to the slightly less expensive Crea Craft Table by the same manufacturer) is very nice. That said, I'm not sure I needed it for my purposes. This table got better reviews on Amazon and it's a newer design so I bought it, but the metal handles/knobs and the beadboard doors are the only difference. Otherwise they're pretty much the same, and if I had to pick again I'd probably go without the finishes on this one. That's a personal taste thing for a more open vs. closed finish. So..assembly. It's a heckuva lot, just like those on the South Shore Crea Craft Table explain. 40 pages of directions, and the table weighs more than 100 lbs so getting it into your house, up (or down) the stairs, etc. is work. If you've put together a lot of Ikea furniture (like my husband), this is a better-than-average piece--packed well, visual directions that break down each step, well-labeled parts, a few extra pieces of hardware in case some don't fit. It took him one morning (about 3.5 hours) to put both desks together, 2 for the first and 1.5 for the second. Everything fit right but he needed help holding the doors in place for the screws, and with lifting the table top onto the pegged pieces so again a 2nd person on call is useful. For a piece of furniture with this many pieces and potentials for problems, to have none is a miracle. The Canadian company that makes this does a good job. If you haven't put together furniture like this, YOU CAN DO IT! It will also probably take you all day unless you phone a friend who has to come help. An electric drill is better than an electric screwdriver but either will work. Everything else is pretty much push-and-press plastic dowels and metal screws. For those who like a nice, solid piece of furniture that will last for generations, take multiple coats of stain, and come in one piece, you will obviously not be happy. I have a couple of pieces like that in my bedroom and dining room and love them. But getting a hardwood craft table into my craft room would have cost about $1500 (I saw one in a furniture store) and still needed assembly. This cost me one-third of that and is fine for my purposes. I know from having 8 kids that it will last approximately 10 years of hard use and/or another 2 disassemblies and reassemblies, whichever comes first. As a final FYI, I stood on this to arrange some things on a shelf and it shook a little, back and forth. Not advised. It's sturdy enough as a table/desk, but not a good ladder. Lesson learned ;).
This craft desk has a large top surface but the inside shelves could be a bit deeper and wider so as to accommodate more crafting supplies and tools needed to make things. It was not bad to assemble but all the parts could be labeled better to make the process easier and the screws and such should have all been placed in the same bag by type. I found a couple items in a different bag with parts that it did not go with. We ended up putting one joiner piece in, it was too long and put a hole through the pressed board. Thanks goodness it was in a spot where you cannot see it and it doesn't hamper the desk sturdiness.
Overall this table is great it took about two hours to put together maybe less. The only problem is we had were too small water damage spots on one of the boards. And also the front doors don't sit flush to the cabinet. My husband fix one of them but then I said just to leave the other one. Other than that though everything looks great and the drawer is smooth so I'm really happy about that. I do see some dark markings on the top that I could run out a little bit, but you can't see them from a distance. If I were to buy it again I would buy the darker colors.
Really nice after put together. Did have some minor difficulty with hanging tool rack inside door. Will definitely meet my craft needs.
I would've given 5 stars bit some of the pieces had a little damage on the edges. Other than that I love the way it looks. BTW listen to whole thing about having 2 people put it together because I did it all by myself but it took me 7 hours.
Overall, this is a decent product and as advertised. That said, a couple issues came up during assembly that should not have occurred. The assembly time estimate of two hours was pretty accurate if all goes right but I found one door handle had bad threads and the screws would not go in more than an 1/8" before locking up. I wound up using a 5 mm x .8 mm tap to redo the threads and I was then able to properly fasten the door assisted by an appropriate square bit screw driver. The other issue I encountered was that there were no adequate holes in the cabinet edges for the small screws to hold the hinges on. The screws could not be tightened far enough to clear the hinge closing and caused the doors to overlap the cabinet edges. I had to resort to drilling out the holes a little deeper and wider to get the screws solidly in. Unfortunately, I drilled too far through 2 of them and they went out the face of one of the cabinets. That was my fault but it should not have been necessary to re-drill the holes in the first place. Other than those issues my wife is very happy with her craft table which, in turn, makes me happy.
Worst constructed cheap designed product I have ever worked on and used. Not even good for firewood.
