These space bags are so handy for storing away seasonal clothes and linens. I use them for putting heavy blankets, sweaters, etc. Great option when closet space is at a premium.
I got these things initially to use for travel but I had bought more than I needed so I packed up some winter clothes. They are awesome and I can't wait to purchase some more! They eliminated a whole box out of my closet! I also got two travel sized ones where you rolls the air out. I was very skeptical but I tried one out, and they work just as well! Granted, you cannot get ALL the air out like you would a vacuum, but it does do the job terrifically considering you don't use a vacuum at all. I love them and I recommend them to EVERYONE!
I really like these bags. I find that they are made much better than a set I purchased over 5 years ago. However, the travel bag(s) are a waste since I really didn't need them. I put a couple of small items of clothing into them but I would have preferred to pay less and get only the large bags. I believe the travel bags should be an option and not inclusive. However, the large bags have worked so well, I've ordered the Cube set (1 lrg, 1 xlrg, & 1 jumbo). Much better value (no travel bags) for my large comforter & pillows. My closet sure looks much neater and I can hardly wait to fill the cube set. This is a great product. Don't overfill and it works just like the commercials. Also, I suggest that they not be stored upright on the zipper end as it puts a lot of pressure on the zipper. If you must store them upright, then make sure the zipper is at the top.
We live in a Motorhome and storage can be an issue when seasons change. Spacebags are easy to use and work great. I am very happy with this product, it suits my needs perfectly in a small living space.
Walmart's service was great, my order came in well before the projected date, and now that I have them, I don't know what I ever did without the vacuum bags in my linen closet, and for putting my sweaters away for the season...I now have space in my hall closet.
I rolled a parka in a large bag at home two days ago without using vacuum cleaner hose (I won't have access to one when on my cruise next month. Bag seems to be working well and has not leaked any air so far. Seems to be very satisfactory at this point.
A couple had seals that weren't great but they did \OK for the job they had to do (condense clothes for a long holiday). When one re inflated on it's own and no vacuum was nearby I just rolled it up so that forced out most of the air. It worked pretty well.
For three of the bags, I was very, very careful - didn't over fill, didn't let anything stress the seams when I was filling - and I guess I got lucky, because those three all worked. I forced an oversized pillow into the fourth, and it no longer holds vacuum. Oops. After excitedly calling my Mum up to share, she informed me you can do the same thing as these bags with trash bags. I tested her theory today -- after a little trial and error, I found they work BETTER than the space bags. As a bonus, my clothes actually lay flat in the trash bags. Sweet. If you want a simple vacuum-and-store, go with these -- the valve makes it easy. If you want a cheaper alternative and are patient enough to spend a few extra seconds per bag practising your "pull the hose away, tie a rubber band quick!" technique before you get the hang of it, trash bags work just as well.
I bought these bags for some hand crocheted blankets that I wanted to protect from moths and damage. The bags are wonderful and not only save space but I feel great about storing things I don't want to be damaged. They were pretty easy to use, you just have to make sure that the zipper at the top is totally closed. The little slider that is supposed to help seal the bag didn't work as well as just sealing it with my hands. The travel bags are nice too, you roll them instead of using a vacuum so that's easy for traveling. There was a small tear in one of my large bags (which I may have made with a ring I was wearing while packing the bag) and I simply put a piece of packing tape over it and it worked just like the others. Great purchase, I plan to buy more!
Nice idea, but poor quality has the bags losing vacuum after a few weeks. Half of the bags I purchased wouldn't hold a vacuum. Two ripped while I was packing the clothes into it. The plastic is just too brittle to be of use.
