I love the two tone color and it is really sturdy and thick. The mugs are a really nice size. I love the lip on all the dinnerware, including the dinner plates, so now your pasta won't easily slid off the plate. It is ideal for a starter home and also for a retiree couple and even enough for two guests. The color tone is good as will fit with any decor. Easy to pack away, dish-washer proof. Look great for a table setting and great breakfast set - yogurt, fruit and toast with eggs Dinner, soup, salad and dinner set all in one.
I absolutely adore the Gap Blue Stoneware Dinner set. The set is a very pretty blue color with a tan bottom. It's heavy and durable and just made very well! It includes a set for four people: 4 dinner plates, 4 cereal bowls, 4 dinner bowls, 4 mugs. It cleans easy and is dishwasher safe. I love how the plates have an edge so it prevents food from spilling and sliding off. All the pieces are the perfect size. I can't say enough good about the set, I highly recommend!
I love this set of dishes- the color is a vibrant, denim blue, and the "raw" bottoms are actually glazed, but with the natural color of the clay showing through. They are a wonderful weight, too- these do not feel like the cheapo psuedo-stoneware that one finds so often. While I did receive this set to review, I am on the waitlist to buy a second set, as this is going to be my "guest and celebrations" dishware, going forward! The one oddity with this set: instead of having salad plates and bowls, there are two sizes of bowl, and the larger of the two is HUGE, like a serving-bowl size. This will be awesome for pasta, though, or when a soup is the main course...or a dinner salad. Watch your portion sizes, though...in a bowl that big, a regular serving is going to look small, and it would be easy to overeat. Overall, I highly recommend this set. They're pretty, made well, and classy!
This dinner set is just lovely ! You get four of everything. The bowls are nice and deep , perfect for soup and they do not get too hot to hold. The plates are nice and spacious. There is a bowl/plate kind of combo so it can be used for both , it's great for salads. The mugs are also great for coffee. I like the color of this set as it goes with pretty much anything. All of these items are very easy to clean and they did well in my dishwasher. Very good !
This is a lovely set for everyday or special occasions. The pieces are heavy , more than any other I've ever had. The pattern is simple and classic, it won't clash with other table decor but still stands out . Great colors that blend with all holiday decor. Food stands out on this neutral color. There were no chips or cracks ,everything was perfect and unscratched. I love the large size of the mugs and the depth of the Bowls too. Q
I really do love these. I was worried at first, but when I got them I was surprised by how thick they are. I don't feel that tthey will be easy to break. Though of course if you throw them or drop them they will. But using strictly as dishes they're great. The speckled details is such a nice touch, and I love the stone bottoms. It gives it a modern look, all while be classy and sophisticated. I want to get another set for when my brother gets married. They match most everything. I recommend these, and have recommended these to family members already.
I selected the dish set mainly for the colors. We recently remodeled our kitchen and I love this colors in this set. The plates are not a bright white more of an off white and the bottoms are taupe. They go well with white and gray. The plates are very heavy. They do take up more space in dishwasher which is a negative however the extra deep lip is great for salads, soups and pasta dishes. They microwave well too not leaving the plate too hot.
I really like this GAP Home Speckled Slip 16 piece with Speckle and Raw Bottom Blue Stoneware Dinnerware Set. The color doesn't look exactly as in the picture on the web in my opinion in the picture it looks a little more shinny than what it actually is in person. In person it doesn't look shinny. I love the high edges on the plates, it's something different that it's not normally seen on dinnerware sets. It arrived with some little small scratches on some of the plates but nothing major. Like the fact that they are dishwasher and microwave safe..Overall I like it a lot! & I think it's a wonderful set and love the 2 color combination. :) GOD Bless Everyone.
Durable-looking combination of cups, plates, and bowls. It is a 16-piece box that was well packaged with no chips/cracks. The ceramics are greatly made, smooth all around unlike other items with dents and small chips. The speckles add to it so that they are not plain, and I do like it. There is a yellow color, around 1 inch, from the bottom up. I hope they have more color options rather than just yellow. I don't particularly like the fact that it is heavier than I expected. It is also thicker than need be. The color is darker than I anticipated. I wish it was a lighter color with more patterns. These don't look modern though there is a slight classiness to it. Be really careful not to drop or hit it against other objects as it may chip and break. I think if the set comes with utensils of the same color then that will bring more beauty to this entire set.
The dishes seem pretty sturdy because the are a fairly thick ceramic material, but that is also a negative. If you combine the dish thickness with its design, they take up a lot of room in your cabinets. See the attached picture of them stacked next to a common name brand every day plate. They take up about 3 times the height of the others for the same number of plates. There were a few imperfections on two of the 4 plates. See attached picture. For these two reason, I will give them two stars..
