I bought this for my SBE, it was easy to setup & I have used it on two duck hunts so far. It turned out to be more then I expected in that not only do it force me to keep my head down on the gun which was the original purpose but it's also so accurate that when we have decoying ducks or geese i'm now able to take head shots & not ruin the meat.
Have had many different top brands of optics on my competition rifles. Burris is the clearest and most well made
Purchased my new Speed Beed for my M2. Three shots later i put 74 pellets in the kill at 40 yards. Amazing how you can see the difference in shot placement then using a fixed beed on a barrel. And i have taken two turkeys with it so far. Can't wait till duck season. Thanks for a great product! T. Kelsoe Hartselle,AL
Easy mount to the 870. Worked perfectly until I broke the lens, no fault of Burris just abuse. Burris replaced it, no questions asked.
Bought SpeedBead quite awhile ago and through sporting goods manager he sold me the #30041for a Benelli M2,etc.Remember there is no listing for my 20ga SuperSport so I gave it a try and worked like a charm. There is a little part of the mounting bracket that extends out from the stock and action. Its so little its not worth trimming or doing anything.Happy!I would recommend camphor the hole on the bracket so roll pin goes through and doesn't stick on assembly.
At 72 years old, my eyes are getting tired and I thought I'd never shot a shotgun again. After a friend showed me his SpeedBead sight, I knew it would help me but WOW, did it ever. When I draw up on a bird, I now know exactly where I am shooting because I can focus on the bird and see in my peripheral vision where the red dot is. It does not block out the bird, only show relationships. It really improves the sight picture in low light such as early in the morning or just before quitting time. It is also good for dark days as well. The mounting system is well designed and relatively easy to install.Sighting in is a simple alignment with the present front bead sight of your shotgun. It stays on target once sighted in. I have never been a good shot but after installing the SpeedBead my shooting improved . The last four days of goose season, I shot 12 times. I bagged 6 geese. That includes an opportunity where I & my partner pulled up on a dozen geese early in the morning and both emptied our guns without a single hit. The birds were legs down into the decoys at 30 yards. First flock of the day. Man were they lucky. Even with the Speed Bead, you can't flock shoot ! I even purchased a second mount to go onto another shotgun I use for ducks and pheasants. Obviously I recommend this sight. The next improvement would be for Burris to develop additional mounting systems for more manufacturers and for 20 ga shotguns. While its a big investment, it is well worth it your me to keep shooting.
Shoots a little low after maxing out the adjustment but still works great for my shotgun.
I purchased the Burris FastFire III 8-MOA as my first red dot scope so I was unsure what to expect. What I found was that when mounted on a 223 rifle I am able to hit the target with very little accuracy. I think this is because I lack enough experience with this type scope. The dot covers the entire target and it difficult to aim consistently. It is my opinion that this type sight would work much better on a shotgun or use MOA of 2 or 3 for a rifle. I decided on the Burris scope because of the warranty "Every Burris optic is covered by the Burris Forever Warranty". How can you go wrong with a warranty like that? The scope is compact, lightweight, but the dot appears a bit fuzzy and it is difficult to use the combination off and brightness button. It isn't very sensitive and it takes several tries to get to work.
I bought the SpeedBead specifically for turkey hunting. To install it on my SBE3 I had to slightly modify it since a model for this gun isn't available. I love the fact that I can co-witness the red dot of the Vortex Venom & my fiber optic open sights - a reference & a backup are always there. I simply remove the Venom when using the gun for other purposes. The SpeedBead stays in place, out of the way.
I have tried a Speed Bead (Brother's shotgun) and thought it was great so I thought I would put one on my Benelli SBE II. It is extremely difficult to mount the Speed Bead on the stock. The pins on the mounting plate are so difficult to insert into the stock holes, the foam padding that is supposed to remain between the Speed Bead base and stock rips when trying to install as per the instructions (see photo). I guess that's why they provide two in the package. Second attempt (after destroying first foam padding on installation) would have the same results.
