We bought this for my son's 4th birthday party and it was a hit!!!! We have never had games before and all of my neices and nephews were soooo excited. My son was jumping up and down and he didn't even know it was full of candy. We learned that you should make sure you have enough room and then make sure you have more to be safe. Be sure you have a place for little ones to be clear out of the swing range too :-) The only casualty at the party was spiderman though. Everyone got a few good hits and the oldest of the group finally took a swing that knocked the pinata to the ground with only a hole in the head. No fear, we just tied a string around the neck and hung it back up and everyone got a chance to pull the strings until the bottom opened up. The kids thought it was two games not just one and they piled on when the candy and treats started falling out on the ground. They had a blast. One character or another, we will probably always have a pinata for a party now. It was also well packaged when it shipped and was in perfect condition!
This pinata holds A LOT of candy, I would say about 5 lbs!! I got this for my son's 4th b-day. He loved it! It took quite a bit to break it open. I would buy again!
The colors are vibrant and beautiful. This is bigger than expected. Holds a lot of candy. I put in 7lbs. It gets heavy though. Best price in town. Thanks Walmart.
My son really wanted a Spiderman pinata & he wanted to hit it with a bat (not pull strings). I ordered this online anyway hoping they could hit it and if the boys couldn't break it open with the bat, they could resort to pulling the strings. It held up well to a neoprene bat. 4 little boys got probably 5 swings each before it broke open. We didn't even have to use the strings, but it held up well to their hard hits. Well made & would definitely recommend.
I had a Halloween party with 12 four-year old boys and girls and this pinata stood up to their aggression. The pinata comes with ribbons at the base to pull as a game, but the kids at our party liked hitting it with a stick better. The ribbons came in very handy when they got bored hitting it, though. I would buy this again.
very good theme for a boys birthday party. great spiderman pinata.
It took 10 kids 5 hits each to break it open with a small wooden bat, but they had fun. It held a large amount of candy and small prizes. It looks cooler in the picture than in real life. The image is a sticker that is put on and it's bumpy, but as it's made to be broken open it didn't matter much. My son loved it.
I purchased this for for my 6 year old's birthday party. The boys loved it. I was able to comfortably fit 3 pounds of candy in there along with a few various toys. We did not do the pull string method but used a stick to hit it. My only complaint was that the 6th child was able to get it open and not everyone managed to get a whack at it, but that is probably very much our fault as we didn't blind fold the kids. And even though we used a stick it only opened at the bottom so now we can use it as a decoration in my sons bedroom.
If Walmart can't ship the product so that it is protected, don't bother making the purchase. The face was smashed in because the packing was only on the top of the box. When I went to the Walmart site, I could only send it back OR order a new one. Neither option was viable since I needed it in two days. The 5 year old was given a spider man pinata with a smashed face.
The Spiderman face is just glued onto the piñata, it would have been better if was more like a typical pinata.
