The kids love this product, it has held up, is not cheaply made. We have had lots of kids and adults playing ping pong for hours and nothing has come apart.
We already have a table tennis table, but I purchased this set for the paddles. The paddles are of good quality and the organizer keeps everything organized and out of the way when not in use. This is the best value for table tennis paddles that I could find.
I think the product is an outstanding value for the recreational ping pong player. I purchased two sets. One was complete, but the other one was missing a very small, but important set screw needed to install a net. I called SPORTCRAFT, but they do not stock this part and suggested I contact Walmart. My local hardware store was able to supply a part that more or less was suitable for the purpose. I would recommend this product because for the price - it's a bargain!
I bought this set just for the paddles and the balls. Having just gotten a new ping-pong table, I just wanted to get something inexpensive for the beginner players in my family. This was by far the cheapest 4-paddle set that I have found. But, it performs admirably. The paddles are comfortable with straight handles--perfect for the beginner player. The icing on the cake is that it comes with more than enough balls (in case you lose or break one) a spare net AND a carrying rack to mount on the wall. Other 4-paddle sets without the net and rack were twice this in other stores. Highly recommended.
I found the ping pong set easy to put up and take down. It has rubber on the metal clamps so that you don't scratch the surface of the table you use. It is very portable and comes with plenty of balls in case you loose one or two. The only drawback I found to the set was that the rubber surface on the paddles began to pull away during the first few days of use. It is easily re-glued.
I bought this set to use with our ping pong table so I have not needed the net. But the paddles and balls are great. However, I did buy more ping pong balls and they do not fit in the holder so beware of the size.
This set is a good beginner's set. It includes everything you need once you have a table. When you think you'll play regularly, you'll want to upgrade the paddles and net. I do like the wall-mountable rack; it provides a nice storage location that is easily accessed.
All was good, except the box in which the item was packed had clearly been crushed near one end. When opened, the rack was broken. Even so, this item, in toto, is a good value.
I bought this set on clearance at another retailer. The plastic holder is marginal quality and doesn't really hold the ping-pong balls in well. Also, part of the wood handle on one of the paddles had come loose. I re-glued it with some wood glue, but a new item right out of the package shouldn't be falling apart already. I would pay a bit more and get better quality paddles.
We just ordered the entire set (with table). It did not come as advertised. It comes with an ugly cheap-looking GREEN net. I even contacted the manufacturer SPORTCRAFT, but they just referred me to Walmart in spite of the fact that even the package that included the green net shows a nice blue net. Here is the response I got from Walmart customer service: "We are writing to let you know that we received your request for information on the Sportcraft Challenger Table Tennis Table. If an item is listed as being available in various colors and if you are not offered the opportunity, through a drop down box, to choose a color, We can not choose a color for the item. The image is only an example and in no way represents the color you may receive." The paddles are very thin, very cheap, but ok. Handles could use some sanding to avoid splinters.
