I have owned this for around 2 years now. Since I bought this the power hasn't gone out. So I'm taking credit for the power staying on. I bought this because it seemed the power was always going out and I wanted my family to stay warm in the winter time. So far whenever I start it it works great. I'm still waiting though to really give it a test run.
I have had this generator for 2 years now. When the power goes out , and it does, we pull this out, hook up a tank, and it starts every time. Very happy with the purchase. It was also easy to purchase thru Walmart and pick it up at the store.
This generator arrived in 1st rate shape. It started with no problem. It should be noted that the nuts and bolts for final assembly are metric. One short coming is their is no key lock for the generator. It is IMPORTANT to be aware that the battery holding bracket is exactly 3 inches wide and MOST batteries will not fit. After considerable searching I found a battery with 130 cranking amps (REQUIRED) and less than 3 inches wide. It is made by SHORAI LFX09A2-BS12. Walmart does not sell a battery that fits this generator.
I bought this generator because last time we lost power I couldnt get gas anywhere, but I always keep a 20lb propane tank around. We lost power (columbus ohio) for about 5 days not too long ago. This generator worked like a champ!! My wife is a stay at home mom and this ran all day long for 5 days and kept her happy..when the wife is happy..you know the rest! I didnt run it at night, and every morning it would start right up after 1-2 pulls. I ran the fridge, a bunch of fans, and a freezer. I wish I had bought this the first time I bought a generator..I'm selling that one now.
My wife and I our expecting a baby boy in any a few weeks and we never wanted to be without power again. My total setup was just shy of $2000 but its well worth it as everything is portable. Wal-Mart had this generator for the cheapest I can find online. I had a 6 circuit transfer switch installed which equals about 70% of my house. I had to purchase a 75 foot 30 amp cord from amazon which cost $200 to be able to keep the generator in the backyard as far as possible from the house. I did that for two reasons which are for noise & exhaust. I'm using my generator with a scooter battery and a solar battery maintainer which are working perfect together so far. The Outdoor Storage Shed is from Lowes which was easy to build and had plenty of room for this generator. I'm using three 40lb propane tanks I also pick up from Lowes which I keep inside my main shed to keep them away from the generator while running. One 40lb tank should run for at least 12 - 15 hours depending on the load size you are running. It doesn't show it in the photo's but I have installed four 2inch round vents around the shed and an 6inch vent directly where the exhaust shoots out the muffler. I can now run the generator while the shed is completely closed. With my setup I have now have family members who are looking for almost the identical setup as I've done all the testing and proven to be a great investment.
Just purchased so can just report on the "So far". Other then a couple missing nuts and bolts, every was easy to assemble. Unit started with just one pull. Brought it online, no problems. Seemed to handle my 3 refrigerators, gas furnace, TV and lights. Had the unit running just outside my family room. Was very impressed with how quite the unit ran. Almost unnoticeable with the TV on.
I rated generator good only because time will tell if its great or not. I picked it up from walmart Sat morning spent the rest of the day wiring it in. Added oil and motorcycle battery Sunday attached propane and fired her up just turning over wouldn't start... Forgot to open tank... Opened it hit the starter fired right up ran like a champ. Didn't seem any quieter than gasoline generator I used in the past but hooked up to house and ran everything i needed just fine. Even the furnace and microwave at same time. Very happy with trial run let it go 2hrs until wife completely flipped because neighbors might be upset... Oh well just have to wait for the next hurricane or blizzard to put her through the true test.
Bad parts took a lots of my time to get it fixed ..I did the labor and after 2 parts the 1st was bad. 2nd I fixed it..Just very bad charging part's..Well start using it again in Sep one of this yr..2019 -hunting season..Will see.. OK
This thing lasted 1 year and then crapped out...NOBODY will work on this so unless you're very mechanically inclined or understand propane engines DO NOT BUY THIS GENERATOR...!!! spend the little extra money on a brand name or you'll have a very expensive door stop...
