I've been a Samsung customer for quite a few years now. I must say that although I go through smartphones like most people do with water, This phone has been the best thus far. All I can say is "Thank You Samsung" for this smartphoner and the Galaxy Tab.
I have owned the Samsung Epic for 18 months and it has been the best phone I have ever had. I love the big screen and excellent display. Makes watching movies and playing games a pleasure. The slide out qwerty is great. I don't use it alot because swype works so well but it is very handy at times when I need to see the full screen as I type. Only con I have is the weight. It's a little heavy but that is due to the slide out keyboard so I can stand the weight to have that. The camera is amazing. Takes better pics than my expensive point and click. If your considering a new phone you can't lose with this one.
for a starter smart phone, this is what you want to get. the screen is beautiful and vibrant and the overall use of this phone is great. nothing bad to say about this phone. im going to upgrade to the S3
i have 3 friends who have this phone , it looked awesome & the features were fun ,when i was able to get a new phone i chose this one too . i truly do love this phone.sweet apps sweet features and cool camera !! I love my Galaxy Phone !!!
I love my Samsung Epic 4g phone and I don't even have the Gingerbread update. It goes everywhere I go and I think I will have this phone for a very long time. Please make a Galaxy S 3 with a QWERTY keyboard like this but more powerful with more internal memory. I also want an HDMI port or an accessory capable to please thanks!
Coming from touch pro 2, and palm pre. It's faster, has better screen, better battery, better apps, and never freezes! It's the best smartphone I've ever owned!
has to be the absolute best phone ive ever purchased! i had everything i wanted with the touch screen and physical keyboard. the physical slide keyboard was the main feature i liked the most, the phone was overall fantastic in my eyes truly lived up to its name. i unfortunately left sprint for att to get iphone 4 and after a few short weeks imidiately regreted it 100%. now cant wait until the samsung galaxy s2 comes out for att which is in 2 short days and i feel like its xmas, recently used an upgrade to get atrix and gave iphone away and luckily for me its within the 30days and i am bringing it back for samsung s2 .... only down side is samsungs update speed. they have to be the absolute slowest company to update their phones, when i had epic i waited almost 6 months from when i got it till late march right before i got rid of it to get android 2.2 from 2.1 but phones great excited to see the new s2
This would be a good phone if it worked. The first one i had got super hot to the touch when in use. Then i traded it in and they replaced it... great. 4 months later there is a conductivity issue with the slide out screen. The screen doesn't work when the phone slides out only when it is closed. I have never dropped it and there isn't even a scratch on it and it has stopped working would have thought it would last longer than a few months. Now I'm starting to hope for an IPhone because no one seems to be able to make a decent phone. I'm really disappointed.
This phone sells and looks a lot better than it really is. While the camera is excellent, it is the only feature worth using; however, even the awesome 5MP cam drains the battery to nil before you can even take three photos. I would know a lot more about the phone's features (maybe) if it would stay on for more than 30 minutes. It runs applications in the bg even after you've tried "killing" the apps several times. Phone conversations; dreamy afternoons, skipping through fields while listening to tunes on your phone; time killed in long lines by your ability to surf the web: consider all those things muted by this clunky droid. It defies the concept of going futuristic as it is reminiscent of the old ginormous cell phones with its weighty body. 4G? A joke that hardly evokes laughter. I could be on an old dial-up connection that buffered faster. 3G and WiFi mode are more expedient. My absolute *favorite* feature about this phone is its wondrous inability to send a text message with a picture attachment in real time. Instead, my pics show up only when WiFi is connected, which is--like--never, such that my pics show up in people's inboxes three weeks later. By then, of course, my message seems perplexing and untimely. Memos have limits that are short, not good for a writer like me who was hoping for a phone on which I could write articles and upload asap as I used to do on my other phones with desktop capabilities. Screen & swype often malfunction. I still haven't been able to download a working driver; this is after multiple attempts on two laptops. I'm sure there's a solution, but who has time for the headache? O_O It's so bad that I just added a new company and line, so I could have a *working* phone. Unfortunately, I'm locked into a contract on this chunk o' tech. *Sigh*
The phone is great in every aspect accept for the fact that nobody can get the USB driver to work which renders the phone almost useless!
