I recently had two hernias repaired and I have a good 4 weeks of healing in but I still can't lift or carry very much. The stair conqueror has been a life saver !!! I can pack it to the rim and have no problem getting it up or down stairs :) AND it is travels on all types of surfaces..sandy, muddy, rocky etc... Just Awesome. Best investment ever :) P.S. keeps everything dry even in a down pour which I got caught in a few days ago.
THIS IS THE BEST THING GOING WISH I HAD GOT THIS BEFORE NOW. I LIVE ON SECOND FLOOR AND JUST PUT MY WEEKS FOOD SHOPPING IN THERE AND RIGHT UP THE STAIRS VERY EASE.
Bought this for my elderly mother who still drives. It's light weight and easy for her to get in and out of the trunk. She uses it for groceries from the car to her apartment. I love the wheels that move up the stairs easily for her. She has five steps to go up and it may not seem like alot for me but it is for her.
If you thought about buying one of those "cage" type shopping cart you will soon be in dismay over the poor quality and usability. Cheap is all I need to say...now this awesome cart can do all the stuff the other shopping carts can do, but better, including doubling as a dolly, naturally not meant to carry the fridge, but a stack of books, or some boxes and it's perfect. A bungy hook comes in handy too. You can put any sort of laundry in this bag and not worry about your personals or socks falling out like they do in the wire kind. I love the fact I can tote it up and down my stairs with ease, and over anything that gets in my way, these wheels are the four wheel drive of shopping cart wheels lol!
My husband and I purchased this cart because we have stairs to climb and it has become difficult to make a number of trips up and down the steps when we purchase groceries. This is handy since we can bring up in one trip what used to take us two or three trips. Goes up stairs easily and smoothly. Not too heavy even when full. The only thing that would be better is if someone else would bring our groceries up the steps for us.
Too bad the handle/arm doesn't extend. I am 5'6" and I wish it would extend a little, so If you are taller it may be too short. It does have lots of room. I use it to take lots of groceries up 3 flights of stairs. Not the easiest to store in the trunk.
This cart has 3 small wheels on each side in the back, all 3 wheels turn separately on the same axel (hope that is the right word). I am guessing that is why it is supposed to go upstairs easily and also up curbs. I have been using carts that are at least double the depth of this one and will hold many more items. However going on gravel, or dirt, upstairs even just 3 stairs, and up and down curbs is very difficult. The wire carts have 4 wheels, 2 in front 2 in back but are very loud when going up a flight of stairs as in apartment levels, so I can't use them like that, as I am sure all my neighbors would complain about the noise. The wire carts fall apart easily just from going up and down curbs much less uneven terrain. I wish it would hold more groceries than it does, at least the groceries should get home without the cart falling apart.
Buying this sounded like a good idea and would of worked great but...it couldn't where I live because the stairs were open. Because the steps had no risers for the wheels to go up it was too hard to pull up the steps. Am taking it back but gave it a four star rating because I think it would work just fine on a different set of stairs.
I need to go up 22 steps to get home. This cart is saving me multiple trips down stairs and back up again when carrying groceries, etc.
This is a great idea for a rolling cart that is much less of an eye sore than the typical wire wheeled baskets. Only problem for us is that it doesn't collapse small enough. Even when collapsed, this does not fit in our car (a Mini). If it did, it would be perfect!
