Other than the mishap with the bolts breaking it proves to be a great workout type product.
My husband wanted this to improve his back muscles and upper body. It has a smooth motion and no straining.
I have only used this rower for a little over a week but so far it's good. The seat is a little uncomfortable though, and I must have really weak arms because I'm on the lowest level and having a hard time rowing, I guess I have to give it a little more time.
Was work to put together but the instructions were good so it works well. Good aerobic exercise and strengthens your back as well as anything. That's what I brought it for, so I'm pleased with the purchase.

It works well for me. I use it every weekday and I've noticed, in just 3 months, I'm getting stronger and faster. The only problem is I'm unable to use the gauge that came with it because the base broke during assembly, which another reviewer had warned about. The gauge should be the LAST item on the assembly list and it should have a caution to be very gentle while sliding it in place.
It is difficult to row, on the lowest setting. I can only use it 10 min. at a time.
Item works about as well at could be expected. Easy to assemble with the tools provided. Easy to adjust. However, the fitness meter would not fit on the the metal mounting prong and the plastic mounting stem broke. Also, the web site for the warranty registration refused to work correctly. (I tried it 6 times)
My husband put together the rower but said the instructions weren't that good to follow. However, He can put together anything so not a problem. It is hard to squat so low to the ground and hold the seat in place to lower yourself on the rower. It took a few attempts but I have it figured out. After I lose a few pounds it won't be as hard to lower myself down on the seat. I was a little intimated at first but determined to master it. I read the other reviews. Some of the problems other people had I didn't have.
I've been using this machine for about a month, and it is performing just as I expected. I have two complaints. The tension adjusters (the pieces that connect the rowing arms to the shock absorbers) are a vulnerable point in the structure. I know that over time they will periodically break, and need to be replaced. This is a basic design flaw that I experienced with a similar machine in the past. The other problem is with the sensor that connects to the monitor. I am a short woman (5'3"), but not abnormally so. However my legs aren't long enough to push the seat over the sensor, so for me the monitor is useless.
