I was planning to purchase a water rower for those cold or rainy days when running is not practical. I bought this combo machine mainly because my wife wanted an exercise bike also and we have limited floor space. I knew it was a compromise but iit has proved to be a great purchase. Well constructed smooth action, quiet, with good resistance level. Have recommended to others who like the idea of rowing and pedaling.
Needed cardio rehab alternative when local hospital pulled personnel back from their clinics for recently released heart, pulmonary and cancer patients. Gives me access to some of these exercises to keep up in the interim. Smooth transition from one operation to the other with the turn of a knob under the seat; changing feet positions. Operates smoothly in either configuration. It comes ready to put together flat in a box, I did it by myself in just over an hour but would be much easier with a second set of hands. Would love to have an ipad or book holder but for the price and options, feels like would be busting a gift horse in the mouth.....
Only had it a week, but so far my husband & I are quite happy with it! Sadly to say it was delivered and had a dent in the main part of operation, which didn't interfere with operation thus far. Between hubby discovered the dent, he already had a lot of it assembled & didn't want to disassemble & pack up to try to return.
Impressed with the structure and overall construction of the machine for the price. I was not expecting to be able to get an 'intense' work out with this but I am sweating bullets after 15 minutes! I can adjust to reduce or increase the intensity if needed. The rowing part is so smooth and quiet! I love that it is a two for one exercise machine that can be moved fairly easily and it doesn't take up enormous space. I am a 50 year old, 5 ft 4"--moderate exerciser who loves fast walking, treadmills and stair climbers, but suffered a knee injury that limits what exercise I can do. This is PERFECT for me!
I bought this about a month ago and glad that I did. I am 63 yr old female with scoliosis. Noticed my body was really getting a pronounced "S" shape and my back hurt all the time. I'm working up to more than 5 mins at a time. I can fit it in whenever, because of breaking up the time in 5 minute intervals. It works every muscle in my body. I don't do the galley row like Ben Hur, but keep my back flat to the back of the seat so it doesn't work too hard. Eventually, I'll get my muscles strong enough to do it correctly. But, after I used it for 5 mins the FIRST time I noticed that I could stand up straighter, and the curl in my left hip was easing up. It's going to take time to get the scoliosis uncurled but the pain in my right hip is gone. It used to hurt just sitting on the sofa watching TV. This is a quiet machine. I was doing my 5 mins in a darkened room and when my husband walked in it nearly scared him to death to see me working out. He couldn't even hear me. This is good because my treadmill was loud and would wake him if he was asleep. I love it. Sturdy, quiet machine. I haven't used the bike part much yet, but I am 5'4' and I reach the pedals easy peasey. I love this machine and can see that it is built to last forever. My husband put it together. It took him a while and he actually used the instructions but it was doable. Buy this machine. You won't be sorry.
My husband and I are retired, and live too far away to drive everyday for a gym. With that being said, there are several reasons we love this thing. We use it all day long - 10 mins, here - 5 mins there. It's a bike, and a row machine!! It's not loud - to me, some say it too loud? Shipping was perfect. put it right in our garage, set up was done within a little bit. I'll stop now, could go on and on...............
The first machine i recieved was damaged, but stamina did an amazing job of getting me a replacement machine quickly! After setting up the new machine and trying it out, it seems like a very sturdy machine. The only drawback i can tell is the seat. As others have mentioned, it is a little uncomfortable, but you can get a seat cushion to solve this, and otherwise its a good machine.
So far I am totally happy with my purchase. I bought this to get some exercise in the winter months. The rest of the year I am doing a lot of yard work, gardening, etc. I usually spend around an hour on the bike/rower. I start out on the bike, then row for most of my time, then finished on the bike. Every 10 minutes or so I increase the tension. I think I get a pretty good work out. Its only about 47 in our garage and I still come in all sweaty. My husband had no trouble putting it together- I didn't do much- just hand him this or that. I did have trouble with my feet slipping out if I wear my regular tennishoes. I bought a pair of cheap slip on sneakers and the straps tighten good around them. No problem now. The monitor- I didn't put a battery in. I read that most said it didn't work or didn't work very well
The basic structure of the machine is good. We are both working our way into developing a program to work with the row & bike. Assembly & set up went well and the instructions were clear. Major issue: we have not yet resolved the problem of the display/computer not working. A replacement was sent but the problem seems to be deeper in the machine. Pulse works but nothing else does. Minor issue: the seat is uncomfortable & it seems like the gap is too great between the seat & back. Using a small Thermorest pad does help for the Bike portion but not so well for row. Other: both the peddles for the bike & the foot rests for row seem to be lower quality than the rest of the mechanicals of the machine.
The seat is very uncomfortable so I can't use it for the lengths of time I would like to as it hurts my lower back. I have tried placing a pillow behind me and it helps a bit but still not enough.
