I searched for a rowing machine on the Web. I found this one and checked the reviews. I liked what I saw and ordered it. It arrived in a very reasonable amount of time and in good order. The instructions for assembly were clear and the machine went together without difficulty. I have used the row machine enough to see that it is sturdy and performs to my great satisfaction. I needed a replacement for a handlebar tip and it was not quickly received but I could use the machine without it. Customer service was good and pleasant.
What a joy! Easy to use, easy to put together and very quiet. I love it!
My BodyTrac, I bought this for myself as a Christmas present. I like my body and know the importance of exercising as I get older. This tool is a God sent!!
Box was a little torn up but it was packed well so no damage. Wasn't heavy to pick up. Just kind of awkward cause it a long box. Self explanatory but I followed the directions and it was easy to put together. I don't leave the battery in the counter. I just time myself. I don't really care to know how much I've done as long as I am exercising. It's very smooth when rowing. Low impact. Nothing hurt afterwards. Stores upright but the arms do stick out so it's kinda hard to store away. I leave it out so I can use it though. I'm sure it would fit under a high bed. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and it didn't even cost all that much. Oh and why I went with this is because to get a good treadmill you have to pay over 300 or 400. Plus it can be hardon your knees. Next I looked at a bicycle but I wanted to work out my arms as well and to get a good one once again you have to oy a lot for it. So that's why I ended up with this. It works your whole body.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a competitive oarsman, and this is my second BodyTrac 1050 rower. That says a lot more than the ****1/2 stars I am assigning it. First, the BT has a small footprint, stores easily and is light enough to move with ease. Second, the mechanics are simple and sensible. They require simple maintenance, like lubricating the shocks and tightening bolts. Third, it's durable. My first BT lasted 12 years. Fourth, the action reminds me more of actual rowing than those expensive rope pulled machines. Fifth the BT is the best buy for the money I've seen. My major criticism is the unusable round cap on the handle. I removed it and redesigned the handle to lengthen it, make the angle more horizontal, and offer a couple of grip options. I will do the same with my new BT. I hope the designers will address this issues, for the next BT I buy.
Well built, easy instructions, good exercise - only negative so far is the "computer" - it works most of the time, but sometimes it just stops???? - perhaps it's the machine's way of saying "don't over doo it"
The glider came with all parts intact. It was easy to put together. The only problem I have is that I am too short to reach the pedals right.
Very easy to put together, and very easy to use. I started on first resistance, am excited to move up. It works arms, legs, tummy, back. I'm very happy with my purchase..
I bought this item recently and was impressed with its sturdy construction and how easy it was to assemble in a short span of time. Since it relies on a hydraulic mechanism as opposed to other row machines offering water, air, and magnetic resistance, it's not quite consistent in the resistance in my experience with it. When I pull the handles back to begin a workout, it's rather stiff, but after 10-15 minutes the resistance lessens making it easier to pull back on the handles. I would sometimes have to adjust the settings to compensate. But you have to be careful not touching the hydraulic piston on the underside of this row machine as it gets very hot to the touch. The foot pads do not offer heel support to keep your feet (heel-end) anchored properly even with the pedal straps securely fastened. I've had to follow the advise of another customer, who bought this machine too, to buy and jury-rig (or jerry-rig) something to keep my heels and the rest of my feet anchored to the pedals while conducing my workouts with this device. Even with my the straps tightly secured, I find my feet slowly slipping off the bottom lip of the foot pedals. Reference attached picture. I like the fact that it can sit up for storage. It's light enough for me to carry but I do wish they had caster wheels on the front end (where the foot pedals are) of the supporting brace where you can lift the machine and roll it away as opposed to carrying it. Because it uses the hydraulic method, it's much quieter than other row machines using air and water resistance. Overall, it's a good starter machine if you are looking for something quiet, low impact, and inexpensive.
First, soon after buying it, one of the bolts that hold an arm in place shorn off due to play in the connection. I got a new bolt and had to shim both sides using tape. A couple years later of semi regular use, the connection between the piston and frame suddenly snapped while using it. Not worth trying to fix again. That should never happen. This thing is garbage, don't buy it.
