I just assembled the rower 2 days ago. Assembling instructions very clear and straightforward, it took me about 45 minutes to complete the assembly. Since then I used it twice and am happy with the results. I used to workout with a rowing machine at the gym, and like this one better, as you can use your arms in a wide opening, as opposed to the ones in the gym that you only bring your arms back and forth. Up to now I am very happy with the workout and best thing is I don't have to leave the house to do it. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't have a heart monitor, which is a very handy feature. I know that including it would raise the price, because of the need to install sensors and another function in the display, but I would be prepared to pay the difference, if it was a reasonable one. I am used to the HR monitor as I also have a static bike at home, and this one ahs the HR monitor and it is very handy. I will post a new development comment in a couple of weeks, after using it more times.
The product is robust, not noisy. The arms move in a fashion that it actually makes rowing exercise feel like real experience. Although in the improvements side, I wish the the seat was even more padded, since half and hour of rowing or more can be tough.
I bought this about a month ago and am very happy with it. I'm not active but had taken a rowing class once and really enjoyed it. I also wanted something that would target a lot of areas.. legs, abs, back, shoulders, arms so decided on a rowing machine. I did a lot of online research and the 1060 made a lot of the top 10s. My favourite feature is the rowing action... moving my arms out and around rather than just back and forth (like a true rowing action) is great. It was easy to put to together. It's quiet and sturdy. The seat seems fine.. I find my butt gets a bit sore but bear in mind I'm not overly active so any seat is going to feel uncomfortable at first. The pistons work well and the tension level is easy to adjust. And I love that it has a place to set my iPad. I work for longer intervals because I can be distracted. One thing to note is that because of the wide arm rowing action it does require more space than the typical “back and forth” rowing machines. Very happy with my purchase. Now it's up to me to keep at it!!
I bought this because I needed something that was low impact on back and knees yet still improved strength in knees and back without pounding joints or discs. My posture point muscles around that area of my back (between my shoulder blades) needed building up to better support my back (according to the physical therapist) and rowing has been more fun than the rubber bands they sent me home with. I was also looking to increase energy. It has eased pain and given me more energy and I couldn't be happier!
It was reasonably easy to put together by myself and it feels really good using it. I think it was a great purchase!
A great, low cost and easy to use and quiet rowing machine.
This is one of the best purchases I have made in years. Really - the arm motion makes all the difference in the world. I liked to row boats years ago but most machines have you pulling chest-ward only. This machine has the actual motions of what it is like to row a real boat - meaning that all of the upper arm is used. At 62, this is important to me, especially that full range for shoulders - very relaxing. I started at 6 and am still there. Rowing is very pleasurable, and this machine makes that happen. Stamina is the goal here, and it provides that challenge in spades while providing what I can only say is fun! I love this machine. Sometimes I just sit down and row while I am thinking about something, outside my program. Assembly: I did it myself in one hour, no problems. Just follow the instructions as presented. I am up to 12 minutes after just 10 days and can already see the fitness returning to my arms and shoulders. My back and legs already feel better, tighter. I normally rely on my physically challenging job to keep me in shape, but with the covid and the place shut down until who knows when, I needed an activity not hard on ho-s, and this machine is it for me. My hips actually feel stronger, not painful. Also my lower back feels good, the gentle persistence of daily rowing is strengthening my core, and all the while the rowing is just fun. I listen to pod casts and imagine myself on a cool lake, and pretty soon the minutes are up but sometimes I just keep on, because it feels so good! And that's all I have to say about that. Do yourself a favor: be good to yourself. Treat yourself like someone you love. Exercise is good for the body, mind and soul.
Assembly: packaging was good, included all the tools need. Written instructions where not good enough for someone with as little mechanical skill as me. The diagram where very good I went off them almost entirely. Took about half hour. Machine is very solid built the only thing that feels cheap is the foot pedal but that has caused no problem. Working out is very comfortable on this even though I'm short and fat. Although the seat is a bit small, so if you carry weight in the tush you might not fit.
I purchased this unit and after assembling it, I found the shock cylinder was malfunctioning. I could put the resistance setting on 1 and it was the same when I put it on the 12 setting. I couldn't feel any difference between the settings. I contacted Stamina and they immediately sent another resistance shock. After installing the new one, it worked much better. I was able to adjust the settings and found the resistance did, in fact, increase from less to more. I'm not sure if the highest setting, 12, will offer enough resistance, but for now, it works great. I appreciate Stamina's great customer service responding to my issue. Not much customer service is found anymore.
I purchased this rowing machine after my gym closed. I also have a bum ankle which I plan to remedy with a Total Ankle Replacement in the next year or so. After reading all the reviews, I decided to purchase this rowing machine. I am older and I liked the fact that many of the reviewers were over 50 and some mentioned joint/bone problems. The other reviews are spot on...I assembled it myself and found it pretty easy to do. I have been using it every other day or so for a couple of weeks and I am pleased. It is quiet and I can watch a TV program while rowing. The only negative I have seen so far is the timer is not accurate which is not a deal breaker since I use my own heart monitor. For the price point, it is great and you can move it against the wall and out of the way. I have a personal trainer and he tried it and thought it was very effective. The four star rating is due to two factors: the inaccurate timer and I want to see how long it lasts with frequent use.
