I was originally looking for a "shooters bag" in Walmart sporting goods, and checked the online reviews. One guy recommended spending the same money on a larger and much more robust tool bag instead. Glad I did - this one works great! Easily holds an organized array of boxes of ammo, magazines, cleaning kit, gun tools, safety glasses, ear protection and several pistols. Love the heavy duty reinforced base and shoulder sling which makes carrying all that weight a breeze. However... as a former tradesman I agree with the other reviews when it comes to using this as a regular tool bag. The pockets and open interior of the bag seem less practical than other compartmentalized tool bags and satchels, unless you don't mind digging through a jumble of tools.

the picture makes it look like you can fit all your tools..but all the pockets are really shallow inside and out, there are three loops inside on one side and they are pointless i can barely fit my drill in the biggest one and that is without the battery all my other tools are just thrown inside because they don't fit anywhere..i would buy something that is more organized and a little bigger the only good thing is the shoulder strap so you don't have to carry it.

This bag has been a primary on the go tool bag for me for about 1 year. I have just realized part of my frustration with getting jobs done is this ridiculous bag. The pockets aren't deep on the outside, just deep enough to think you can put stuff in them only to retrace your steps to pick up items that have fallen out. the one large compartment inside the bag is a jumble of tools that I try to re-organize after every job. I spend more time digging thru the bag, which if there is not bright light is like reaching into a black hole, than I do accomplishing tasks at hand. If your child needs a tool bag to start out with buy this one. I just retired this bag to my 9 year old, and am now looking for a more practical, user friendly tool bag.
