I bought this for detailing my car and I absolutely love it. It is a powerful little machine with a decent hose length and the price is amazing for the quality.
I bought this vacuum for one purpose. To use in my RV while traveling. It is replacing a small handheld "Shark" vacuum that from day one, always ran so hot to the touch, that it was a worry. Well I worry no more. On one camping trip, the shark finally fried itself. The Stanley 1-Gallon vacuum not only performs well, but actually seems to have more suction power than the Shark did. So far, I am very impressed with both power, performance, and ease of emptying the canister. I have not had it long enough to rate how long the unit will last. But as one reviewer said, "for a vacuum not much bigger than a gallon of milk, it is great". Being a shop vacuum, It did not come with a bunch of attachments like a household vacuum would. So I did however, by using various sizes of plastic pipe, fabricated adapters for using the dusting brush & one other attachment I had from another household vacuum I own, to fit on the Stanley suction hose. All together it works great!!!
I recently purchased a small vacuum, and I must say, it's been a game-changer. Despite its compact size, this thing has serious power. It effortlessly handles all the dust and debris, making my cleaning routine a breeze. The simplicity of use is a big plus – no complicated buttons or settings, just straightforward cleaning. It's become my go-to for quick clean-ups, and I couldn't be happier with its performance. If you're in need of a reliable, compact vacuum for basic cleaning, this one definitely gets the job done.
It is small, powerful and exactly what I need for little jobs. Like most of my corded power tools, it requires an extension cord. It takes 1 1/4 inch attachments and I bought a horse hair dusting attachment to add to its versatility. The model number at Walmart.ca is SL18101P-1H. Use this one if you search for parts at altonindustries.com and as a compatibility reference at other sites. The model number at Walmart.com is 8100101A and is also on this model's sticker. The wall mount kit is a real bonus for me.
Awsome small 1 gallon vacuum. I have another Stanley 4 gallon vacuum, too!
I couldn't afford the $69.00 machine to clean my microfiber chair. I read on line 2/3 part alcohol and 1 part water sprayed on fabric and use sponge to rub spots, then I used this great little machine to suck up the dirt, Wa LA!! I have a new looking chair (my dogs favorite) and I saved $51. On the machine and $69. On a professional upholstery cleaning, plus with my painful hands it didn't hurt to use
I purchased this vacuum to do quick cleanups in my rat cage. I have 4 rats and they're messy. I vacuum the cage at least once a day and this vacuum makes it quick and easy. Yes, the cord is really short and so is the hose, so I have to hold it while I vacuum. It isn't that big of a problem though. Excellent suction, easy to empty, and serves the purpose. I love it. Makes pet cleanup really easy.
Awkward design. It has great suction, a nice compact size, easy to carry, small enough to stash in a closet. The cord is surprisingly short, didn't reach the length of my room. I found the hose to be stiff/new, and it easily *spills* the vacuum and sucks the float ball up. The bottom/foot is too narrow, Too heavy with motor above. A base Ring would prevent spilling, and a softer hose less likely to topple it. Its only flaw, is the awkwardness.
Gets the job done if you're using it in a small space. The cord isn't long enough to work through an entire room but we used it in the bathrooms, car, etc. and it was just right. Only drawback is if the vacuum tips over, the motor gets jostled and doesn't work properly. Not sure if this is common among all of these vacuums but seems to happen to ours. I guess that's what you get when you only pay $20 for it. Another thing to note is the plug is three prong so be sure to have an extension cord that isn't only two prong.
This little thing is the absolute worst case in engineering. The moment you turn it on the exhaust air comes out the same direction the vacuuming hose goes, so you actually blow the dust further away from where you want to clean it up. But that only happens if the little thing keeps standing upright which normally it does not, it topples over with the slightest move. If this happens you cannot just set it back upright, no, you have to turn it off, so the valve inside can go back to its right location, then you can set it up and turn it on again, only to start the whole show over and over again. I seriously have no clue, how somebody could invent something so bad. However, I have a very narrow crawl space that I desperately need for storage, and I needed something as small as possible to go in there with me, that would still give me enough space to move around. So, during my first super frustrating test run I had a galvanized bucket from the dollar store (those that are a bit on the heavier side of things) by sheer accident sitting right next to me, so I put the little thing in there. This solved all the problems: The bucket re-directs the exhaust air upwards, away from your working space and the weight of the bucket keeps the vacuum cleaner from falling over all the time. Ever since it's a great little device, I love my little vacuum and carry it around with me in the said bucket everywhere I clean. The suction is really good and it's easy to clean once it's full. I find it a lot of extra mile to go with, if you're willing to do that it's really great, if you don't - keep your fingers off, don't waste your money!
