It gets the job done! Great tires for my chevy Tahoe!
I dont often shop at Walmart. I happened to be in there one day and was strolling past the automotive section. I was looking at tires and as I often do, checking the country of origin on the different brand tires. I noticed a brand of tire I had never heard of, Starfire. I figured they were Walmarts house brand. I also figured they were imported. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they were not imported, but Made In The USA. I did a little research and found out they are made by Cooper Tire. Many tire companies have plants in the USA but Cooper and Goodyear are the only two tire companies that are actually American. Flash forward a couple of months and I was in need of some tires for my 2016 Silverado. The least expensive tire I could find online (Tire Rack, Discount, Amazon, etc) were about $150 per tire. A friend recommended I try Walmart. I went online and found the Starfire brand at an outstanding price of under $100 per tire. Remembering that they were Made In The USA I decided to give them a shot. When I ordered them I received an email confirming they were shipping directly from Cooper Tire. I had the tires in 2 days at my door. Four tires, with tax and free shipping were under $400 delivered. When they arrived I confirmed that they were made in the USA. These tires have a 50k mile warranty which is on the lower end. For the price though 2 sets will cost around what a set with a 60/70k mile warranty would cost. Also, my OEM tires are Goodyear and still have plenty of tread left on them at 58k miles. Unfortunately the sidewalls are dry rotting and I will not be able to get the full tread life from them. I do all of my own tire mounting and balancing at home. I can confirm that the tires balanced easily and all four ran true on the balancer. If I can get near the 50k miles of treadlife from these tire I will be very satisfied.
I usually buy Goodyear i travel a lot for work. I pay 1,000 or more every year on the best Goodyear has to offer and still needed to get them plugged still had problems. So this year I decided to just buy the most reasonable priced set I could find. Haven't had them installed yet so I will come back with a update and see if they last just as long as the so called best did. I get a oil change at least every 60 days and always have my tires rotated at the same time so this is me experimenting we will see.
This purchase was my second set of these tires. Had a Ram 1500 bought these and they were excellent. Purchased a 2500 truck, and when I needed new tires looked here first. Was able to find the heavy duty weight bearing I needed, and without the off road tread that was on the stock Firestones. The noise reduction was tremendous, have had these for months now and they have been great.
I had Bridgestone Revos that were dry rotten within 5 years of the date stamp so that led me to get these. They are quiter than the others, half the price, and have a beautiful tread pattern. Tire shop did say it took alot to get them balanced but they ride very smooth and they are very responsive to the steering wheel. They are very responsive in corners but that may be due to the fact I upgraded to a 10ply tire. Unfortunately the tires I received were already a year old, thats why they only get 4 stars, Surely Walmart can do better then that.
These are good so far, two weeks sub freezing temperatures and about 14 inches of snow and they performed good in 4wheel auto. Further testing is needed however for a comprehensive review.
Ordered 2 tires October 30th and it took almost two months to come in! Customer service sent it to escalation and I had to call two more time after that! Finally they said they would give me a refund but it would take 10 days to get approved, then miraculously the tires came in at my Walmart! Was never given anything for my hassle or inconvenience!
Tires were great. The service at Walmart in Greenwood, MS was terrible. When I arrived I was told my appointment time did not matter. Very rude employee and the store manager brushed me off. Will NEVER go back to Walmart in Greenwood, MS.
Would not buy again. Have had tires balanced twice and they are horrible. Terrible shaking when reaching speeds of 55 or higher. Think tires are out of round. Get what you pay for.
Not a satisfied customer late delay with shipping had to cancel installation appointment will not be purchasing tires through walmart.com in the future. Terrible slow service hard to even get help over the phone.
