Thie kayak far exceeds my expatations. So easy to inflate and deflate. Very comfortable to sit in and row. I would not really reccomend for two people a little to much drag and not alot of leg room for long trips. The quality of the product is exceptional.
Living in a condo next to a river always kept me wanting to kayak, but the lack of storage space kept me from purchasing - that is, until I found this kayak! My officemate and I both purchased one (we work near the river, as well.) We both love it. Highly recommended!
This kayak is great for 2 person touring on lakes, flat water rivers and salt water. I have owned 2 stearns single person inflatable kayaks (in Caribbean islands) and this 2 person model (in Brainerd, MN lakes area). They are all extremely well built, durable and easy to handle, haul and store. I would highly recommend them for the aforementioned purposes. Since the paddler sits lower than in a conventional kayak, I recommend the use of paddles with length of 90" to 96".
I recently purchased this product to fish in the Corpus Christi Bay with my son and it has certainly exceeded expectations. It blows up easily with an air-pump and it is very sturdy. It ran over rocks and coral, but no punctures whatsoever. I had zero concerns about it tipping over and it fished quite well. The only issue is the drying out process. I had to end up reinflating it to get the inside to completely dry out.
Although we only used this once since our recent purchase, I was impressed how easy it was to inflate. Although, I don't know how to monitor the recommended 1 PSI pressure. It clearly was underinflated, but worked just fine. We took it out on the edge of the Choptank River in Maryland while it was a little choppy, and seemed to do fine. My husband and I are in our 50's and not athletic so we wanted an inflatable that was easy for us to take camping with us and use on a nice calm lake. So far, so good. I did figure out later that if you inflate it as far as you can with an air mattress compressor, you can blow into the one-way valves to "tighten" it up a bit...certainly not to the recommended 1 PSI, but stiff enough that when you lift both ends, it doesn't collapse in the center. The only thing that would have been better is if it came with a compressor and paddles. I can't wait to use it on Raystown Lake in Central Pennsylvania.
I just started Kayaking this year and have enjoyed it so much. I had bought a rigid one early this year, so I got to compare them side by side. - The reason why I chose an inflatable this time is because we were running out of room on top of the car (with our other 3 rigid kayaks) and I needed a two man kayak. I have a little 8 year-old that no longer fits in between my legs.....at least comfortably. - This inflatable is very comfortable and inflated <5 minutes with a hand pump. It was nice that I could throw it into the trunk instead of having to secure it on the top of the vehicle. - And we have found that you can't sink the inflatable when its full of water......but you can sink a rigid if its full of water. - It has skeggs and would track nicely, but it is a tad slower than the rigid ones. But then I also was paddling for two. - It's only a foot longer that our rigid ones. - When putting away, we found it was easier to empty and clean the rigid ones. It doesn't have a drain and it was hard to get out all the water. Have a towel ready. It also cleans and dries best inflated. - The price from Walmart was the best. I paid $300 for this one, which was $50 less than anywhere else. I bought (2) $12 oars, which were also the same ones we already had, but also cheaper. We paid $250 for the rigid ones on sale, which came with oars and a skirt. (Our first one cost $300 without oars or a skirt. And the oars were around $24.) - The shipping was free (to the store) but it took 2 weeks and said it could take up to 3. Picking it up was easy and the associates were professional. But if you want it fast, send it to your house.
