It was what i was looking for.
My kids, ages 3-8, play with this. There's plenty to do. They like to build w the soft ‘wood' pieces and use the tools.
Good sturdy durable Needs more accessories for boys maybe a tool belt bucket etc more tools
This is a nice toy for toddlers ages 3-5 years old. I found it was the perfect height for my son. This is a nice size toy that won't take up too much room but does fit nicely up against a wall in their bedroom or toy area. I do like that that this toy comes with a lot of storage for other toys. My son started to use the workbench as a place to pretend fix his race cars. He loves putting together the fake wood truck and also using the work light. This has kept him busy for hours. He loves that he can build things just like mom and dad who have been doing some home improvement projects around the home. Beside the work light one of his favorites is the power drill and he loves that it can work both forward and backwards. As much as I love this product and so does my son, I could only give it a 4 star rating. The reason being is that it wasn't very easy to put together. While the directions don't call for an electric drill, I would recommend it. Trying to build this with just a regular screwdriver I found very difficult especially if you are trying to build this yourself. Some of the holes were not lining up correctly. I would also suggest having someone help you build this. Another thing I was not a fan of was the directions not in color. I feel having these in color would help make sure you have the correct piece and making sure that it is facing the right way. One of the other great features with this toy is the foam fake wood truck that you could build. I did find this a little more advance when it comes to building it. That a 3-5 year old wouldn't really get it. It would be nice if another foam fake wood building toy came with this as well. But I did see you can buy extras, which is a great idea for extra gifts to keep the toy fresh for the kids. Thank you Step2 for letting my son test out this toy as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
The bench itself is nice. I love the amount of storage and the size because it isn't taking over my whole room. My daughter enjoyed playing with it a lot when she first got it but within a few days her interest had faded. She really likes the working drill and light but you can't use the tools on anything! There are holes where you can put the screws but they just slide right in, you can't actually drill them in. You can put the bolts onto the screws but that's about it. The foam car is a nice touch but I'd rather have something you could put together - maybe a really simple car where you could drill the wheels on. And it doesn't come with much so the extra storage really just goes to waste. I even looked to see if you could buy something extra to go with the bench but I didn't see anything. I'm sure my daughter (3) and son (8 months) will use it a lot more in the future but so far, not much excitement for it. Thank you Step2 for letting me test this item as part of the Step2 Toy Tester Program!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Ever since receiving the handyman work bench my toddler keeps telling me she's "working on stuff;" then she is off to play on the work bench. She is obsessed with the flashlight and drill; I'm obsessed with the multiple buckets and areas of storage. Even more suprising when our cousins age 4 and 6 came for the weekend they also spent hours playing with the work bench so I'm looking forward to years of play! We bought this as a gift for my grandson's first birthday. He and his 2 1/2 year old sister loved it and played with it constantly. It's a little noisy when they're hammering( I didn't think that through lol), but they both really seemed to enjoy it!
Assembly was fairly straight forward. Use a power driver instead of a hand driver. For the most part it's ok but I think 4 years of age is tops. The top drawer under the bench is garbage. If you pull it out more than a third of the way it along with everything in the drawer falls out. I would not recommend this for kids over 4.
Very cheaply made nothing like advertised doesn't come with much
Missing main item to even putting it together! So sad for a little guy and his gift for Christmas!
