Okay, I had a Step2 mailbox that was only a single slot. I've owned one of these double Step2 mailboxes at a previous house. After owing one of the single slot Step2 for several years now at our new dwelling our mail was over running the smaller version. I had to upgrade. The Step2 Deluxe mailbox is worth every penny. It isn't exactly double the size of the single Step2 but the capacity is larger on the Step2 Deluxe and it has two newspaper sleeves.. Someone said in a previous review that the magnet for keeping the mailbox door closed was extremely hard to release. They mentioned putting some tape over the plate on the door to defeat the magnetic strength. I found that the magnet at the top of the mailbox was easily adjustable by loosening the phillips screw and angling the magnet to the proper pull strength. There is a little trial and error here so be patient. If you have a current 4 X 4 post in the ground you may be able to use it by simply cutting the post to the correct length and travel on. There are some house numbers with the mailbox but you may find you need to order more. Oh, the deliver was seamless with FedEx the next day. Nothing but good things to say about this transaction.
Our replacement mailbox was at the store, the man at the front told us where item pick up was , we were greeted by the clerk there and our mialbox was soon on the way home. Just as expected. Thanks
This product was to replace the exact same one 4 years old that was hit by a car that veered off the road. Despite it being cold temperature and getting hit hard, it sustained only minor damage. I decided to replace it with a new one since the driver agreed to reimburse me for it. This mailbox had withstood heavy snowplowing, vandal strikes, and lots of mail traffic without cracking or breakage. Walmart had the best price, the shipping to the store was free, and it arrived in a matter of days. Walmart rocks!
Ordered this mailbox on a Sunday, was delivered on Wednesday. Nice sturdy tan colored mailbox. Packaging is just a thin cardboard box, so I was suprised that it wasn't broken
Online ordering was great and easy. Tracking date was off but Thanksgiving was involved. Package arrived, placed on my porch; everything in tact; I will order again when I need something.
Good price only $10 more than regular mail box and you have a rust proof twice as big mail box. Mail person likes it too, more package friendly.
The item arrived in a few days and was installed in minutes. Has extra storage room for packages and with magnetic door is totally dry. Highly suggest :)
This mailbox was easy to set up, looks great and is pretty darn big! We set it over the 4X4 from our current mailbox, so we didn't have to dig at all... I order online a lot and the mail carrier used to have to get out of his truck to bring packages to my door...now he can slip them right into my mailbox. My packages are now secure and dry, not sitting out on my front stoop as they had before... The 2 separate compartments for newspapers are deep enough to keep our papers dry too. I would definitely recommend this mailbox!
Great mailbox! Serves it's purpose.
The mailbox looked like a good deal until it arrived. The back plate which hides the wooden post was broken into several peices and the front door was detached from the box. The tangs which hinge the door to the mailbox were bent and broken so that the door would not stay on the box whenever it was opened. The box was tatered and retaped shut as if it had been opened before (or maybe returned before)! I was very unsatisfied. If you want this box, check it before you leave the store. It may save you a trip back to return it.
