My son is 2.5 yrs. old and very rough and tumble. He loves running in and out of his cottage. We got the brown color with blue door. Its basic but we strung some lights battery operated lights to the ceiling which lightens the interior. We also velcroed some foam mat pieces to the floor of the house for a little cushion as he crawls in and out since we chose to put it in his bedroom vs. outdoors. My only small gripe is that the grill/counter piece is kind of wobbly after install, but it could be how we installed it, not sure. As grown-up and toddler can fit inside or a couple of kids at a time. It fit the intended purpose and he loves his doorbell. He drags his toys inside to play as he watches Sesame Street.
We got this as a birthday gift for our daughter. She had been begging for a tree house and we don't have a tree to build anything in so we opted for this. She picked it out because of the door bell and she and her brother love playing in their ‘house.' It was easy to assemble and is good quality for the price(we bought it on sale). Overall, we are very happy with this purchase and love seeing our kids enjoy it. Would recommend to others.
Very timely delivery after on-line ordering and easy assembly. Perfect birthday gift/outdoor playhouse for granddaughter who already loved playing in our backyard playhouse, a much earlier version of same Step 2 Neat and Tidy! Ours has weathered many seasons as well as many kids with about 12 years in our backyard and prior maybe 4-6 years at a friends! Great materials; long lasting! Very satisfied with purchase and decent pricing!
I ordered this online back in the summer time and paid $119.00 dollars. I decided to put it up for my kids for "their big Christmas present". My husband and I put it together last night out in the cold and took us about 50 minutes with a regular screw driver. We did the whole team work. I held it together as he screw the bolts in. To me its looks a little small,but I guess with a toddler/toddlers it fits their height for it. But overall I really like it. Can't wait for them to see their Christmas present tomorrow morning.(December 24,2010)
shipped and delivered in a timely manner! nothing was missing or damaged. i was worried after reading other reviews. instalation was great, i did it in advance to make sure everything was in order. im a female who knows lil about tools but i used a power drill and it was a breeze
I've researched prices at different places for similar products and this was recommended by a friend. My grandson just loves it. Four months and he still loves it. We cut a small piece of carpet for it and it stays in our livingroom. He uses it like his "safe" place to play and eat his snacks. Yes, it needs assembled, but it wasn't so bad. I would definitely recommend this for many hours of play.
Perfect size for toddler could fit 2-3 comfortably, or 1 toddler, and a little sofa, or 1 toddler and adult. My grandson has me playing in there, I fit sitting crisscross with him in there, just an example of size. I love the openness, it's hot outside, so it being open lets in air.
Initially it seemed like it was going to be super easy to put together but at 6 months pregnant I was just not having any luck getting the pieces to go in. Husband was able to easily put it together though in about 30-40 min, says use screwdriver but man power drill really sped up the process without damaging anything. We have a 2 year old and she absolutely loves it. We really like that this one comes with a floor, huge deal for us so it doesn't fill up with dirt/pollen/bugs. We plan to buy a cover for it specially for the spring time. It's also not too large or an eye sore either. Def recommend it over others I've seen.
This house is nearly perfect. I took a star off because there were no holes or even indications of where holes would go. I had to use a drill to create holes, which took quite a bit of time. The area that houses the sink/grill seems wobbly, so I may add another screw in there to stabilize it better. Also, the seat came slightly dented. I'm pretty sure I can fix that with a rubber mallet to pop that back out again. Again, that's just due to bad packaging. It would be great if the sink came with a plug so I could fill it with a little water. I will find something to make that work. Overall, this is so cute and perfect for my one-year-old. (sparkly duck not included)
Now we have the pleasure of disassembling this thing and dragging it back to the store for a refund with a disappointed 5 year old. Total inconvenience, wish I never purchased.
