Walmart and/or sterilite need to work out a better way to ship these. Mine were shipped without any packing foam or additional cardboard to prevent breakage. Sure enough, one of them is cracked. Big hassle too because now I need to return all 8 and have 8 more shipped to me. Seems wasteful, but I also shouldn't have to live with 1/8 of my order being cracked so it is what it is.
Delivery was on time HOWEVER, the box looked like it had been crushed, one bin was broken, and one lid had dents and a crack in it. The lids don't close tightly. They just snap very lightly onto the edges of the handles. The actual bin seems fairly sturdy but the lid is very flimsy and loose. I had planned to use these bins instead of cardboard boxes in an outside storage unit to keep the bugs out (because bugs LOVE cardboard) but these will NOT keep bugs out of the bin because the seal is not tight.
Arrived half of it damaged, no foam or anything to protect the bins inside the box. Now, Im processing a replacement and it will take 3 weeks to receive a shipping label via mail for the return. Not sure why their pick up for return cant show up with a shipping label already, they want the customers to print labels and we just moved in to a new house, we dont have printer yet. Their customer service even suggested that i should ask the new neighbors or go to the library instead of just contacting fedex to bring the shipping label. Hopefully the second shipment wont have damage because the return and replacement is such a hassle.
The bins themselves are great. We use them for inventory storage at work. Problem is that Walmart (or FedEx) is unable to ever get them to us in 100% good condition. This last order, I ordered 3 sets of 8. There was only 1 box of 3 where all 8 bins arrived undamaged. One box had 2 broken pieces, the other had 6 broken items! You have to return all the pieces, so you get into a fun little game of shipping items back, getting a credit, reordering, and hoping you eventually get the full number of items you need. I wish Walmart and FedEx could figure out how to store/ ship these so they all arrive in 1 piece!
I was expecting the bins to be damaged due to poor handling. Im keeping them bc returning them be so much more of a hassle, set of 8 is definitely heavy! Id like to suggest this seller to package them with bubble wraps or some form of protection on the corners of these bins to prevent dissatisfied customers.
I thought these were a great bargain, considering the price for the size and quantity of these containers. However, they weren't in stock at any of the 5 surrounding Wal Marts from me, so I had to have them delivered. The boxes arrived smashed on the corners, ripped in a few areas, and the tape was sliced on a few spots. I opened it to find a couple of the lids cracked. Many of the lids are deformed, to where they won't actually click or lock in-place on the container. This was rather disappointing. I had a feeling I would've been better trying the 48 qt Sterilite containers with the lids which lock onto the container, more like a hinge (though they are more expensive). You can roll the dice on this purchase; maybe you'll get luckier than me (and others who have reviewed these), but don't hold too high expectations.
The totes are great for Christmas storage with the green or red lids, plus, with them being clear, you can see what's in them, at a glance. I just wanted to let you know to check the lids carefully. All of the totes have stress marks on the corners of the lids and 1 of them is broken through. I don't know if I can return/replace 1 lid.
The totes arrived cracked, lids cracked. This is an order that sadly I would have to return the entire box back for a just a few and its not worth fuel cost, effort and limited time I have to drive the distance to ship it back. Wish they would simply send me replacement for the damaged pieces. I just don't have the time to return it with extended work hours. Just last week we ordered 2 of the same size interior door and hardware. Two doors arrived but of different sizes wasting about 2 hours repacking hardware, labeling, driving the truck the distance at today's fuel and having sent back. (Doors weren't Wal-Mart). Just getting to be a shame with shipping these days. About 33% of products arrived damaged and we are not compensated for our tume and cost to rebox, tape and bring to shipping location.
Every single bin was broken on the same corner. They won't seal. This is the second time I've had thus happen with Walmart. They are packed stacked inside of each other with no other buffering. So they were probably dropped during shipping. On that corner that is broken. All the pieces are inside the bins and box.
I ordered these to help me organize, and was really looking forward to getting them. In my first order received, every single tub was broken inside of the box. they did not even try to put any air bubbles in there to help protect them. I submitted an exchange request, and my second shipment contained four broken tubs, and only a return option was offered. I really need these tubs so it's really irritating that they keep shipping out broken items! Where is the quality control?! I know air bubbles do not cost that much so why keep sending out broken items only to have them returned?! The company is losing money, and you are wasting people's time! Not only are people having to return the damaged items, but the company also has to pay for things to constantly be reshipped! I don't expect to hear back from Walmart, or Sterilite regarding this, but it's definitely not good customer service. I wish I would have taken pictures of the first order when literally every tub was broken.
