Seat is at a good height. The arms don't fit under our dining room table, but it's rare for any chair with arms to do so. Assembly: The third and fourth chairs were easy to put together, once I learned what needed to be done with the first two. The graphic-only instructions say, “Do not tighten screws and bolts until the entire item is completely assembled.” (That's the only written instruction.) The “Assembly Troubleshooting Guide” states, “Prematurely tightening the bolts can lead to numerous issues and will lengthen the assembly time.” So on the first chair I secured the leg bolts loosely, and when trying to put the seat and back together I had to loosen them quite bit to get everything to fit. On the second chair I kept the bolts loose, and still had to loosen them more to get everything to fit. On the remaining chairs I put the bolts into their screw holes and left them “dangerously” loose (they wobbled all over the place). But that level of looseness worked – I was able to put everything together, and those two chairs were assembled quite quickly. The Allen wrenches supplied are usable, but for the main chair-to-leg bolts and the four bolts at the back of the chair I found my ratchet screwdriver to be much easier to use. My screwdriver is too tall for the bolts at the front of the arms, so I used the small Allen wrench for that. I like that the bottom of the seat has a zipper, so it's easy to get to the inside corners for the bolts, and can be closed again when done. Assembling the chairs was easiest with the seat upside down on a small table, so the legs can be attached and allowed to hang loose. Once all four legs were attached, I put the back and arms upside down on a larger table, mounted the seat on top of that, positioned the legs, and inserted the bolts. I loosely tightened the back and arm bolts first, then the leg/seat bolts, and then tightened them down in the same order. After a couple of months, one of the legs on one of my chairs detached – the plate at the top of the leg that attaches to the arm pulled out of the leg. I notified the manufacturer, and they sent me a replacement leg with no issues.
Excellent quality and service. I am extremely impressed with these dining room chairs, and the instructions for assembly are well written. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This chair is very lightweight, and, accessible. It is my favorite chair for watching TV, sewing, and sitting at my computer.
I liked the Steve Silver brand chair and the wood finish, however the vinyl looked rather cheap to me. I inquired about getting a chair with leather instead of vinyl, however I was told they don't sell chairs with leather, only vinyl.
I purchased six of these chairs and am happy with them. They seem to be sturdy and are nice looking. The casters could be better-they don't roll as easily as ones on the old chairs I had before. Also, the assembly instructions could have been better and parts should have been identified with a sticker because the drawings weren't clear.
The chair seat is low to the ground making it difficult to move from sitting to standing Chair legs should be longer. Otherwise good quality chair.
These are shorter than any desk or kitchen table I have ever sat at, so pay attention to dimensions! Otherwise, the quality is great for the price.
The chairs were a bit tricky to assemble: directions were confusing, bolts were difficult to thread deeply, and legs were difficult to get into place.
I gave it 4 stars because the assembly was very taxing without extra tools (drill)
We love the look of the chairs and they are very comfortable. However, they are too short for proper seating at a standard table. We have to purchase thick chair pads to avoid having the dinner plates at barely below the chin. Perhaps quite tall people would be fine.
