I ordered this dresser hoping that it would match the crib I purchased month before. When it was arrived I was please that it was almost identical cherry color. The product look very rich and for the price I was truly pleased. I shopped around and found the same dresser at other stores more expensive. Assembly wasn't as hard as the other reviews said..my husband had it together in no time.
This item is great! Very stylish and matches great with the crib I bought separately. It is made with pressed wood so not solid wood, but I did not expect it to be solid wood. The price was good for this item because it has the look of a very high priced item you may find at an expensive store, but for the price that is affordable. It was just as I expected actually a lot more sturdy than I thought it would be. I absolutely love it and cannot wait until the changing table comes back in stock, because I will be buying that to match it. I recommend this item if you want something stylish, but can't afford $600 for a dresser.
This dresser was easy to assemble. Very sturdy and heavy (we definately used the included wall anchor for safety). And now that it's marked down in price buy it while you can!
Although it did take my mom and me three hours to put together (maybe some of that was our fault, because we put a few pieces together backwards - which was totally our fault, not the directions), it is a wonderful buy! The color is great, matches the other Storkcraft cherry furniture I've bought for the nursery. Baby isn't here yet, so it's used only slightly when I've been putting his clothes away, etc... so hopefully it stands up to time - but it really feels sturdy! All parts included, directions pretty easy to read, and site to store shipping worked great!
After reading some other reviews I was worried that this would be very difficult to assemble. However, this wasn't hard to put together, it was just very TIME CONSUMING. It's a beautiful dresser and holds lots of clothes. The height is perfect, not too short and not too tall. I LOVE the color - its a perfect espresso (not too red/cherry). We purchased the entire Aspen bedroom set in espresso and we couldn't be more satisfied, especially for the price!
I was learly after reading some reviews but rest assured this is a great purchase and well worth the money especially since we found the EXACT piece of furniture at another retailer and it was over $500! My husband and I put the dresser together in about an hour and a half and as long as you carefully lay out ALL of your pieces before beginning, and you follow each step EXACTLY you will have no trouble at all- if you attempt to skip steps or come back to steps you will have major problems- luckily we found none of these. The wood is simply stunning in color and as for the height- perfect for your child's nursery and it will grow with them into their toddler years and beyond. Pay attention to product details to be sure the height is right for you- it was the perfect fit for us. LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS DRESSER! WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)
I've read reviews on this dresser which matches the crib I got. A lot of reviews said it was hard to put together (it wasn't nearly as hard as the crib) and it's very sturdy once put together and looks absolutely great! The drawers are on rollers and probably will give out over time- those aren't the sturdiest I don't think but I think it will last us a while. Overall I think this is a great purchase. We got the whole Aspen set: Dresser, Crib, and Changing Table. LOVE IT. -a new mom
My husband and I put this dresser together, and we still managed to spend almost four hours putting this together! The pieces weren't marked, and it was just a major pain. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. BUT, once together, it is beautiful! I love it! It is sturdy, very heavy, and comes with a piece to bolt into the wall to keep from tipping over, which we didn't use. The drawers are wide, though not as deep as I hoped, but that is fine. We still had plenty of room, plus some! This dresser goes well with the rest of our soon-to-be daughter's furniture. I believe this is well worth the price we paid.
I really like the look of this dresser with the curvy lines. I like the top of the dresser having a back to it so things don't fall off. It is a lot smaller than I thought it would be, but that is my own fault for not paying attention to the dimensions! The drawers seem really small. Ahh the drawers. The bane of my existence. Putting this dresser together was a BEAST. The directions are not very specific not to mention that only the legs are labeled so that you don't get the front/back and left/right mixed up. But that's it. You have to be SUPER careful and look at the diagrams very well or you can easily make a mistake. Back to the drawers. The runners that you have to put on do not run the full length of the drawer. The diagram shows that they do. So, it took me trial and error to figure out exactly where to put the runners so that the drawer would go in all the way. Maybe someone could have figured this out just by looking at it and using logic but I could not. So, if you get this and you run in to this problem, let me tell you the runners go towards the front of the drawer, not the back or middle. And there are no "pre drilled holes" in the drawers for the runners as the directions claim there is, so you can't use this as a reference. There are also no pre drilled holes for the backing. The top are the easiest to get in as they just screw into particle board but still be careful because it doesn't line up well and you can split the wood easily. You still have to use a good amount of strength to get the screws in and even more so for the bottom and side. Needless to say, I did not use all the screws to secure the thing, just two on each side/bottom/top just enough to secure it. It took me close to 5 hours to assemble this on my own with a half hour snack break. While this is a nice looking dresser there are many pitfalls to putting it together and the drawers are not very deep. I don't see how a child could use this much past 8 years old when their clothes start to get bigger faster and multiply faster.
I think my title says it all. After reading good and bad reviews I decided to go ahead and try this dresser anyway. First of all it took a long time to get from site to store, almost a month...which isn't part of my review score..just fyi :) If you have never assemble pre-fab funiture before, DON'T buy this! There are TONS of pieces! If you have (which I have and wasn't scared of all of the pieces) but the directions were terrible! To make it even worse NONE of my parts were labled! I pushed through it by looking at pictures and common sense. I finally get the dresser assembled and move on to the drawers and find out that ALL of my drawers are in cherry finish!!! I ordered (and the rest of my dresser is in expresso finish). After being frustrated, I called the maufacturer and they are rude and don't want to help. They finally offer to send me just the front of the dresser drawers in expresso...I dont' want just the fronts...I want the front, sides and bottoms, after all that's what I paid for! Anyway...hence why this dresser is a gamble! IF you manage to get an all one color dresser or a dresser with all of the parts...it is pretty once assembled. I would also say that you get what you pay for...As this is not "cheap" quality..it certainly isn't great quality...I would estimate it to last through baby...maybe toddler years if it's not moved around too much. Hope this helps :) I have attached pics, so you can see my two different colored dresser LOL...and so that you can see it is decent when put together. Oh yeah, it isn't as tall as I thought it would be either...so if you are wanting a taller dresser, this is not it! It is about 4 1/2 feet tall. I personally wouldn't buy another one :(
