We ordered one of these for a church nursery and we're ordering a second one for our mother's room. It's a solid piece. Heavy, and it anchors to the wall so that little ones can't pull it over on themselves. The color is light and has a nice grain look - not quite the light, natural birch we were attempting to match, but close. The cubes are about 10wx13hx16d. I'm looking for fabric or basket storage containers that are 9x12x15 - they'll fit in the cubbies perfectly. Overall this is a great product for the money. One of our retired church members assembled the piece with no trouble at all. It took him about an hour.
This product looked great in the photo, however it is completely unassembled 9 not the bad part). It was IMPOSSIBLE to assemble. nothing was marked and as you tried to screw the screws in, the wood would splinter. I had two different people attempt to assemble it and they both walked away highly frustrated. I returned it to Walmart just a pile of pieces ( thank you, Walmart, with no problems with the return). Very disappointing, to say the least. How can a company sell an item that cannot be assembled by even a gifted assembler?
