Great item would recommend
This changing table looks attractive, but is very heavy due to all the particle board it is made from. It took some time to put together and like most instructions where there are many pieces that look similar and many screws, we had to review the instructions really carefully! When we put the drawer slides on the bottom of the drawers, the screws split the particle board. We will have to see how long these hold up due to that! I gave 3 stars for the weight and the splitting wood. Overall it looks nice. For the price it is what you would expect and that was all we had budgeted for this item.
Wish I would of read the other review before I bought this. After spending four hourse putting it together we realized that the left side board for the changing part on top had all the wrong holes drilled into it and NONE of the right ones. Not really that big of a deal (just frustrating) so I am currently waiting to receive my replacement board...which I didn't have any trouble getting ordered. BUT I was still excited about this changing table and had bought standard sized totes to go into the cubby holes since it says they are "large". DIDN'T FIT. So...I am having my totes cut down to make them shorter so they will fit because they are the colors that match the nursery perfectly and I can't find any smaller ones. But today was the last straw for me. After so many issues with this stupid changing table I was so excited to get the changing pad put on it so I could make the nursery seem somewhat put together....DIDN'T FIT. It was too big! And yes it says that it comes with a "changing pad" but NO ONE would ever use that pad. Its maybe an inch thick and flimsy. I thought it was part of the packing styrofoam till I realized it was supposedly a "changing pad." So now I am searching all over trying to find a changing pad that will fit the top of this changing table...and I suppose if I can't find one I'll have to try to somehow make one cause I'm not about to try to take this thing apart and box it up to send it back. Nothing but complete frustration and disappointment with this thing! I'm over 7 months pregnant and this is the last thing I want to be worrying about right now! Oh, but on a positive note...it DOES look very nice...or it will once I have the last board attached.
First on the positive, it looks great. BUT it is a pain to put together and my husband is a handy person so drilling holes and doing all the extras that it required to put together was not a big deal for him. And the biggest thing is that it does NOT fit the standard (or any that I can find) changing pad. Yes it comes with one of those cheap ones that no one actually uses. We are currently looking for a way to rig it because we aren't going to take it apart & send it back at this point. I would definitely NOT EVER recommend this because of the changing pad issue, however if you just want it for the dresser it does look great.
