The iPhone worked perfectly and was in such good condition I couldn't tell that it wasn't new. Straight talk is wonderful and have had no problems. I had to call tech support to get a telephone number transferred that I wanted to use and had the best experience I have ever had with tech help. It was so good that I asked to speak to the supervisor so that I could compliment the person that helped me. I would definitely buy again and will stay with Straight talk when I get my next phone. I get unlimited talk, text and data for what I was paying for just phone talking-no texting, and I didn't have to sign a 2 year contract.

(I gave this same review for the white version of the iPhone which I gave to my wife.) The iPhone with Siri is really just an incredibly useful piece of technology. I asked it for the NFL scores yesterday and it just read them off even adding ESPN like verbiage "like soundly defeated" or "in the battle of Ohio". Everything about the phone is incredibly user friendly and I know that I have just scratched the surface of its functionality. Having bought it without a subsidy is surely worth it because of the no-contract deal with Straight Talk. Taking into account the $45 bonus card included, I consider the phone to really have a net cost of ~$400. My only ding on the deal is I still can't believe I paid $400 for a phone, but realistically I'm sure the functionality of the iPhone will pay off and paying only ~$45 a month for unlimited service sure does beat my old contract phones. And I'm sure there are plenty of apps (like cheap gas finders) that will save me extra money over time. Truly great phone and very attractive service price through Straight Talk.

My daughter and grandchildren told me the apple i phone would be very easy to use. I was a little reluctant to change.from my Motorola Chocolate, but my fears were reduced almost immediately. I would recommend this i phone to everyone, especially "seniors". Reborn!!

Best Phone I've Had

I use Straight Talk, and I was excited when they added the iPhone to their selection. I decided to splurge, but I was between the 4S and 5. I didn't want to pay more for the 5 since it has most of the same features as the 4S, so I decided on the refurbished 5. I couldn't be happier with this phone. I feel like I got a great deal, and I no longer have to worry that my phone is "too slow" or I need to reboot. Worth the money!

We haven't had our refurbished iPhone 5's very long, but they have been flawless so far. They looked as good as new when we got them, and came with all the same accessories as a new one-for a MUCH lower price. I would encourage anyone to buy these instead of new!

Great phone, fun to use

After reading other reviews prior to ordering the phone my expectations were very high. When the phone arrived and I got it activated and started using it I was not disappointed. Going from a flip phone with just talking capabilities to an iphone 5 that seems to be able to do everything was quite a jump. I feel like I have finally arrived in the 21st century. I'm finding new aps to download every day and enjoying reading my emails from any where I want. Only drawback is the frequent charging of the phone. With moderate to heavy use, it has to be recharged at least daily. On a scale of 1 to 10 its a 10.

My first smart phone

My friends and family have been pleading with me to upgrade from my "flip phone" to a "smart phone". Walmart made the phone so affordable I couldn't say no. The refurbished iPhone 5 works flawlessly. I had been told negative things about Straight Talk but my experience has been perfect so far. All of my friends have been having fun putting pictures and ringtones on my contacts list. I bought a Mophie battery extender (120% more battery life), and a Zagg screen protector. I added the two year extended warranty because of the great phone price. I have iCloud and Facebook. My nieces and nephews now think I'm "cool". Great experience and half the price of AT&T. I did have an initial scare... I received an email that informed me that the supplier of the phone could not immediately fulfill my order. My order would have been canceled if the supplier did not ship within 10 days. They shipped on the 7th day... whew!!!

not all screens rotate

not all screens rotate, about half of typing screens don't rotate. makes setting up difficult and signing in to apps the same. my fingers are too big for the tiny typing keyboard, have to use stylus. when reading books content doesn't size up when phone is upright, my favorite way to read, only when turned sideways. no back button. makes going back to previous page difficult and some times impossible. all these are possible on android devices. get with it apple! good signal strength though on verizon towers which has better coverage. battery could be better.

NOT the same network Verizon customers enjoy

I was very excited to sign up for the CDMA Straight Talk available through the iPhone 5. However, I was immediately disappointed when I lost service for large blocks of time on a major interstate. It turns out that Verizon customers enjoy roaming in many areas where there is no native Verizon service (on Sprint or US-Cellular towers, for example). The Straight Talk CDMA offered for the iPhone limits you to Verizon's own towers. When I was without service for over 20 minutes on a major stretch of I-77 north of Charlotte, it was a deal-breaker. My wife has real Verizon service, and she had service the whole way. I'm returning the phone this week.
