Very nice looking, good quality baby gate - I do wish the opening was a bit wider though. Would make carrying baby and all of the diaper bags/toy bags, etc. out the door.
I have 2 six month old lab puppies and have gone through several types of gates. They haven't held up, many had plastic parts that broke or the puppies could easily knock them over. The top and bottom of this gate has a heavier gage metal which allows it to fit tighter. I bought one of these gates and after a couple of weeks bought another. Keep in mind you need two hands to open the gate, slide a button back, then lift and push open. After some practice I can open it with one hand but my wife need both. This lift feature prevents the dogs from ramming it open. Overall I am very pleased with this product. *New update: Labs are now 7 months and one can now jump over the gate, it's still a great gate.
Perfect for confining our new puppy to the kitchen/family room area. Easy to install. Easy to use. Just push the button, lift the gate and open it. Easy for my young grandchildren to use too. This was an addition to two other extra tall walk thru gates previously purchased. Its a bonus too that Summer stocks parts as one of the other gates, that was not used for years, was needing the pins that connect sections together. That was easy ordering and quick delivery as well.
Great strong gate that closes on its own in proper position or remains open if opened wide enough. I like when it closes behind me a sound strong and sturdy. I do not have to check if it is closed, I can tell by the thump. Really like that look of this gate. get compliments from all visitors.
We just bought this gate to keep our great granddaughter from falling down the stairs. The install went easily and quickly and it is quite sturdy and looks great! Then we discovered we had forgotten about the cats whose litter box is downstairs on the other side of the gate! Rather than take the gate down and return it - we took the smaller left-over panel and the larger panel down to a local welder who modified the larger panel with a pet pass through. A bit of touch-up paint and a re-install and it works great - and looks great!
This is the second time we have purchased this gate. We like this gate because it is very easy to operate and we really like the auto-close feature. We have another gate that is not auto-close and it's a little finicky to close. With our second gate, the plastic inserts that the extension pins slide into were installed upside down so the extensions couldn't be installed, but I was able to carefully pry them out and flip them to the correct direction without damaging anything.
The gate is sturdy when compared to similar products but has torn into the paint and drywall where it is fastened. Even when using the tool, it does not stay tightened and moves along the wall, sometimes buckling and requiring adjustment.
We received this gate a week ago. it is a beautiful product to look at. It appears very sturdy, but it does not fit our opening. I was very disappointed because I loved the look of it.
I put it on the stairs. When I go up or down and holding a baby it's not comfortable because I have to be very careful he is not getting hurt from the sides of the gate or myself. I already got a blue mark on my behind from the plastic that sticks out that says warning. We initially purchased two of them but had to return one because it would t fit properly. It was either too big with the extension or two small without it. One good thing I can say is the Quality of the gate is good but bottom line it's not functional for me.
I measured from the plastic that sticks out till the knob where the door turns is 16” wide. I tried to comment the response I got from the company but didn't know how to respond. They claim it's 19” wide but I can prove it's not correct.
