I wanted one room without kids or pets. This works and looks good. The gate operates smoothly unlike some other gates. Great to have some space without toys, fur or wee wee. Our guests have inquired as to where to purchase. I did not use all the extensions and wish they made one that fit smaller doorways. We really like this gate and the price is good also.
We bought this gate after someone passed down the same gate to us and wanted to get a matching one for our living room. It's simple to open and close as well as when my son gets to it and opens it and closes it, it doesnt clamp his fingers in it. The length is great for wide door ways. Also helps keep the dogs out or locked in when baby wants to crawl around the house as were watching him. Loved it so much, my mom got the same gate for her house!
Looks so good and the best part is that it's pressure mounted.
I love this gate!! I looked forever for a gate that would cover a 58" inch opening without additional purchases on extensions. I had no luck for a long time then I found this gate. I was impressed to also find such a nicely made gate that also would go with my decor. I have a nicely decorated home and a lot of the baby gates offered on the market aren't very nice looking. So I was shocked to find a very classy looking gate that fit my decor and my needs so well. I love that this gate doesn't involve drilling holes in my apartment walls. I can remove it when we move/don't need it anymore without any damages to my walls. I have had this gate up for a couple weeks now and I love it!! It is in my kitchen entry way to block the baby from getting into the kitchen. So it endures a lot of traffic and so far it is very sturdy, and appears well made. I would definitely recommend this gate!! The only downside I can find to this gate so far is it a little challenging to put up by yourself in a large opening. Overall I think this is a very good extra wide gate. It will cover openings from 36"-60" wide. I hope my review helps other parents in desperate need for the right gate, like I was.
This was the only gate I could find that was wide enough and versatile enough to fit at the bottom of our stairs. Love the color and the walk through gate! Worth the money!
Perfect gate! We needed something long enough and I wanted something that was somewhat stylish and this is perfect! My husband said it was easy to assemble too!
We had a unique opening to our living room with a brick fireplace on one side. We wanted to enclose it for our soon to be toddler's safety. Because of the brick, I didn't want to use a permanent fixture so searched for a tension gate, but our opening was between 60-61". It is difficult to find any gate that is tension-based for that width threshold. I think this may be the only option. No store actually stocks them in this size so we had to go online, which means we weren't sure what we'd get. The positives are this gate is properly engineered to handle this width. Even though it says 60", I was able to stretch slightly beyond. (YMMV). Installation was simple and straight-forward. The product has a nice finish on the metal and wood. Ultimately, it's neutral enough that it should look good in most situations. The unique construction means that you can make it fit in a number of widths by removing sections. My complaints are that the sections are so tightly stuck together that one of the mating pieces became dislodged from it's correct side when we were trying to push them together. However, pliers could probably fix that if it is stuck. It would be nice if when shutting the gate it clasped automatically. Finally, the price is a bit steep, but it was the only option to do what we needed to do in this case.
I absolutely love the look of this gate! It is beautiful, built well and serves its purpose. The only negative thing I have to say about this gate is how we had to install it, isn't ideal. The space it says allowed for openings was 4 inches wider than the smallest allowable space. However, we could. It use any of the metal attachments because adding them made the gate so large it would not fit into our opening. We had to adjust the metal pieces along the side to near full capacity and also add the felt furniture spacers behind them so it wasn't flimsy like. Glancing at the gate, it does not look level but it was the ONLY way we could get the latch to line up to close properly. Blame that on the baseboards, possibly uneven walls, I'm not sure but it's what we had to do.
We bought it for a puppy gate. The gate has been terrific for our needs. I like that you don't have to put holes in the wall, but we have a very wide opening between the kitchen and living room so it's hard to find one like this that doesn't require installing into the wall. The walk thru door works very well and you can choose which direction you want the door to open. Installation was easy if you follow the directions. The only con I have is that the door is wood and the rest is metal so of course the puppy chewed on the wood before I bought the "bitter apple" spray to keep him from chewing. Once I sprayed the wood door he never chewed it again. We've had the gate for 9 months now.
We purchased this gate fewer than 3 months ago and installed as soon as we received it. I loved the look of it, and it was perfect to fit the wide opening between our kitchen and living room. Unfortunately, it was very short-lived. Within a few weeks, one of our dogs had already chewed up the rungs of the wooden gate; if either of our dogs were big on chewing we would have stuck with a barrier that was completely metal, but they genuinely are not usually chewers. This led to the discovery that the wooden rungs were not only not solid wood, but were also very soft. We thought this was just an aesthetic issue until tonight, when the rung completely snapped off as the dogs went through the gate. Now not only is it ineffective to keep our infant out of the kitchen, it's also sharp and dangerous. If you do not have pets, and your children are extremely well behaved (in which case why are you getting a gate???) you will likely be pleased with this gate. It is very attractive and makes for a decent, if fragile, barrier. If your kids are rough on items or you have dogs, I very strongly do not recommend this item - you'll find yourself needing a new one all too soon.
