We got this kayak on sale. It was on clearance and although it didn't have the cargo hold it will be no problem to just throw a waterproof gear bag in there and to be honest I think I would prefer that. Very comfy. I'm 5'10" and took it out on the lake open water with very choppy waves and lots of wind. It handled beautifully! Every bit as well as a more expensive Jackson boat that we took out on the much calmer Cane River earlier this year. My 8 year old also was able to handle it like a charm. We could not be more pleased with the purchase. My only complaint is we bought the last one and haven't been able to find another in local stores and it isn't available online either. It is going to be a great little memory maker for a long time is my humble opinion!
I bought another boat like this last year and really do enjoy it. A great buy and built rugedly.
I purchased this kayak. Being small, I am able to lift and carry it by myself. It was easy to take around the lake and just the right thing for a beginner. My sister is jealous.
I Love This Kayak, it's very stable, it's fast, i had a wonderful time using it, until i ran into an alligator! The Alligator was the only problem i had and it did good out running it, and yes i recommend this to a Friend :) and i'm buying my wife one next month! :D
Well i went in half's with my son on this There is no storage on this model and has sharp edges on inside edges but we fixed that with some pipe insulation and some amazing goop My son liked it and next day took a 5 hr float trip in it he said it was stable after getting the feel for it hes 5'8 and 165 lb well a week later i had time to give it a try at 6ft 245 lb it was to small of a boat for me , leg room was great but it sat to low in the water and was very unstable . they say its 8 ft but its only 7.10 for anyone knowing anything about kayaks this is a plain hull with no foot pegs or seat back Over all it floats and is fun just not for a bigger person
My girlfriend has been asking about kayaks for a while now. Found two of these on clearance for $98 each. Total out the door for the two boats was $221 with tax. One was missing a paddle so paid $12 for a cheapy to get us going. Some have been saying the boats feel unstable but I found them to be very stable. They'll lean easily for about 5 degrees either way of center, but then the bottom design makes them stabilize and it becomes more difficult to tip further. You just have to become accustomed to that first 5 degress of easy leaning. I'm 5' 10" and weigh 225lbs. It holds me just fine. Also the light weight mentioned is a bonus. I can easily carry both boats at the same time.
I purchased this kayak because of the low price, size and weight. We took it out on the water today and were undecided as to if we liked it or not. It's good qualities are that it is very light and can be carried with one hand. It is short enough to slide into our Dodge Durango if the back seats are folded down. It goes through the water easily and fast. Paddling does not take much effort at all. This would be really good for someone with a back injury (like myself) due to it's light weight and non-strenous paddling. The negatives are that there is no storage compartment at all. It is not very stable in the water and I felt like it might tip if I wasn't careful. When paddling, it is very hard to keep in going in a straight line. The front sways back and forth pretty good but I found that if I changed my paddling technique, it was easier. My boyfriend said that the plastic seemed too thin and he was concerned about how strong it would be if dropped or something. However, that is probably what makes it so light. The edge on the hole that you sit in is kind of sharp, so when he carried it, it hurt his hand and he would want to wear a glove. It does come with the paddle in the photo. All in all, it was an okay kayak for the price, but we are returning it and getting one that will be a little better quality for not much more money.
