Good product that works as well as I hoped. But, buy a handle to attach to the pole ( I bought a 2-pack from Amazon for $12) to help gain leverage for a long reach.
This trimmers ample power and with the telescope can reach areas without a ladder. The telescope can be connected or disconnected quick and easy so it can be changed without any tools. It take me less then half the time then my old one.
The clippers arrived successfully; the assembly and how-to-use instructions were very clear and complete (and also understandable!). Much easier to trim the top of my hedge from the ground, rather than setting up and climbing the scaffold platform which i've been doing for many years. Easier to hold the trimmer on a vertical pole rather than reaching over the hedge from the scaffold. Happy to have a corded device which should work for a long time, without having to decide on a particular battery pack system. .
I had a less powerful pole trimmer that wouldn't cut through the thicker branches so I replaced it with this one. Have not had any problems with insufficient power with this one. I have a number of tall evergreens and other tall shrubs and this one eats right through them, where as my old trimmer had to gnaw on them for a while before making any progress. I have another trimmer that I use for shorter bushes and only use this one for tall bushes, since this one is considerable heavier. This trimmer is heavier than my old pole trimmer and I do notice it, especially when I have to use a ladder and extend the trimmer out to maximum reach, but it has reduced the time it takes to get the job done. Now that I'm in my late 70's, I probably notice the weight more now too. I'm sure I wouldn't have noticed it 10 years ago, but it becomes very noticeable now after two or three hours using it fully extended. Since I only have to do this 4 or 5 times a year, I can put up with the extra weight. Anyway, its a wonderful trimmer and it has reduced my cutting time in half. I give it a big 2 thumbs up.
I used this hedge trimmer just yesterday. I had a regular trimmer, but I could not reach the top of a tree even with a ladder. When I was shopping for a telescopic trimmer, I came across this product and fortunately it was on sale. It is easy to use, not very heavy as I had feared and cuts great. Overall the quality appears to be well built and solid. I have other SNOW JOE products too (electric thatcher, snow blower) and I like the quality of their products.
I Used it for the first time this past weekend and it did what it was supposed to do with no complications.
I have used this trimmer with the extension and without. It is just the ticket. It reaches far enough for me to keep the trees trimmed up far enough so that I can get my suburban in and out of the garage. The blade accepts thicker twigs than my old trimmer making it more versatile when trimming shrubs along our front walkway and in our backyard.
Shipping was prompt. Only used it once on some taller bushes but it worked very well. The only drawback as I have seen on other reviews when the trimmer is on the extended pole it is heavy but being able to reach hard to get places and the adjustable angles make it well worth it in my opinion.
The Sun Joe SJH904E Multi-Angle Telescoping Convertible Trimmer works well worth the price. The Multi-Angle adjust settings didn't work too well for me if I was using the trimmer over my head. I found this trimmer to be heavy if you're a woman especially if you extend the pole; but the shoulder strap does help to balance the weight. It cuts well. I recommend this trimmer.
It's a hedger, so it cuts brush fine. I like the interchangeable handheld vs. pole configuration. When on the pole, it is quite heavy and really strains your back, but being able to reach heights without a ladder is great. A feature that I had on my old Black-n-Decker unit that is not on this unit was to lock the trigger in the handheld position. This means you have to hold the trigger for the unit to run. Having the feature to lock the trigger on lets you switch hands easily and extend to reach out further. This feature should be considered for improvements.
