We have 4 of them. One for all the grilling stuff. One for pool noodles and floats. One for pool chorine and chemicals and one for the pool solar cover when we take it off the pool. Keeps our patio and pool deck organized and the stuff handy and out of the garage.
So right out of the box this unit was much easier to assemble then when we had tried previously. Once together, this storage case fit all of our seat cushions for chairs around our table. So that is four seat backs
Very well made. This is my second Suncast Deck Box. I did have a problem with the lid fitting properly. I called Suncast and told them and they sent me a replacement lid with no hassle whatsoever. They shipped it UPS and I had it in a couple of days. The replacement fit just fine. Customer service is very important to me and Suncast is exceptional.
The medium storage box arrived yesterday, box intact and no damage. It is by Suncast. I put it together in about five minutes. The directions did not do a good job of showing orientation of pieces but the pattern on the outside of the panels has a curved design towards the bottom so I used that as a guide to not put pieces together wrong. The first assembly is one side to the rear. The side slid into the rear piece so easily that I did it with the rear piece standing on end. Gentle pressure with my fingers was all it took to click it into place. I rotated the end to slide and click the other side into place. I did it with the rear piece upright so it would be close enough for me to see with my old eyes. The underside construction of the bottom panel is not symetrical. I worried about orientation but either that did not matter or I got lucky and dropped it in properly. It really does just drop into place then gentle pressure clicks the bottom planel into place. The lid looked like it might be a problem since there were three hunges that needed to click into place. I got one edge lined up and pressed down and it clicked, then the center one and for the last one I sat on the top and that hinge clicked into place. It stays up when opened. The unit is definitely a light grey. Since it is on the front porch I plan to dress it up since it is utilitarian looking. It is on the front porch solely for use by UPS and the mailman to put delivery boxes since there is some problem with deliveries being stolen from porches. I am not sure if I will try some plastic paint or even attaching some thin veneer stone with construction adhesive. If I remember to, I'll come back to report how it stands up to rainfall. It is under the covered front porch but wind can blow the rain onto the porch.
Overall a very nice storage unit. The handles on the side are nice and the rolling wheels on the end. I bought it to store covers for my patio furniture. After reading the reviews I agree the cover was difficult to get on. I just laid it down as to shut the lid and then sat on the lid above the hinges until they popped into place.
Seven years ago I bought this item. After being left outdoors year round exposed to midwest climates, SOME deterioration started to appear - cosmetic only. I decided to buy the same item again. I was extremely pleased with how long this item had lasted. A true value for the money.
Originally bought a Rubbermade of equivalent size. Totally disappointed with the quality and how poorly it was constructed. Took it back and ordered this Suncast. Much much easier to assemble. Better overall quality and value. Couldnt be more pleased with this purchase.
I ordered the 73-Gal storage chest to hold patio chair cushions. It was easily put together with my 8-year old granddaughter's help. It holds cushions for five chairs (seat and back cushion). My granddaughter and I can sit on top of it with no problem. So far, it has not leaked and we have had a few late summer light rain showers. We will see how well it does when the winter weather comes.
the box was advertised to hold 4 deck chair cushions. the cushions on my chairs (which came with the set) are not that large and yet I can't close the box when I squeeze them in. I assume that they mean the smaller replacement cushions you buy at the store which seem to be a little thinner and smaller overall. it's disappointing to have bought this item under the assumption that it would service my situation as advertised.
The lid is defective and has chunks of plastic out of the front. It would not install in the slots. Since I could deconstruct what I had completed, I had to us a utility knife to cut the notches of the lid to fit.
