I have been using this for the past 3 years on my camper I live in northeastern Ohio my father has used this on his boat for the past 10 years we have never had an issue however you do need to make sure you waste a gallon or 2 flushing through the system a lot of people drain and then add the least bit of water is going to freeze you must waste some of the product I read and hear people saying it froze it will not freeze I had it in a basketball hoop for 15 years instead of putting sand in the bottom I just sold the basketball hoop and it never froze it is cheaper to buy at Walmart than it is at a boat or Marina store they charge $6 a gallon
I purchased 250 of these gallon jugs online. The product, it's self, is just fine for the price. The shipping on the other hand... Walmart sent all 250 jugs PARCEL SERVICE instead of freight. Neither I nor the FedEx driver were impressed. Plus, most of the original boxes had been damaged and the jugs were re-boxed into Walmart boxes. (I had to re-box several of the re-boxed jugs, myself, just so I could store them properly!) Many of which were leaking by the time they got to me. On top of that, 8 gallons never even arrived! They were kind enough to refund my money for those 8 gallons, however...
Ingredients on the pictures showed are not the ingredients on the bottles, once I picked them up. I did not want alcohol of any kind. Picture shows water, propylene glycol, glycerin, corrosion inhibitor. Bottles say water, ethyl alcohol, propylene glycol, dye and dipotassium phosphate. Watch out if you do not want alcohol/ethanol. I kept in in case we have shortages and I cant find anymore. I will return them if I find the kind I actually thought I was buying due to the picture representing it.
I got my extra bottles out of the camper And come to my surprise its frozen! Its only been -2 degrees outside. I guess we will see how my trailer is in the spring time! No way should it be frozen if it says it can go to -50 degrees!
Froze up and broke things. I have been winterizing this cabin for years with other anti-freeze with never a problem. I know the procedures to get all the water out. This year I got this stuff. It obviously froze and expanded. Washer is busted. Toilets busted. Drain traps busted. Worst temp it possibly would have gotten would be -10F, no where near the -50 rating. Would NOT recommend!
This antifreeze was shipped in a box with no care. The gallon was only half full. Wouldn't buy this from walmart again....
This is a lousy product. I poured some into a tuna can right out of the bottle, stuck in my 0 degree freezer and it started sludge at 34 degrees and was a solid at 19 degrees. The photo shows sludge at 23 F. At 19 degrees it was solid. Poor quality and not worth the risk. My brother had a solid pink "hockey puck" sized ice in his RV toilet using this product. It was 14 degrees over night and his kitchen faucet was also split because of this. He. Used 4 gallons undiluted and it was very pink out of the faucets I diluted. This is what prompted me to do my own test since I winterized both of my RVs with this. I have not been able to check the status but I hope there is no damage. I will never use this product again.
It claims to not freeze until -50F at full strength, yes, full strength freezes at zero!!! BEWARE how you use it, as the bottles also expanded with the freeze. In the north, I only use full strength antifreeze, but shoot, find something else as this doesn't work and I'm dreading the damage this product may have created.
ONLINE item description indicates main ingredient is propolene glycol (the good stuff) but when I ordered and picked up, the label indicates this product contains denatured alcohol and propylene glycol; and since denatured alcohol is listed first that means there is MORE of it in this product. So BEWARE! Most people believe denatured alcohol is NOT GOOD for water lines, hoses, rubber washers, etc. in RVs and boats. We will NOT buy RV antifreeze here again.
Despite the labeling on the website indicating otherwise, this product contains ETHANOL which is known to damage rubber components such as pump seals. In addition, even after it's removed from your system the smell and taste will linger through many flushes of the system so beware of this
