I highly recomend this gate. It was easy to set up and I also love the spring loaded closure. I bought it to keep our 2 new Boston Terrier puppies out of the living room. The wood look goes great with our furnishings. It was well worth the price, cheaper at Wal Mart than anywhere else.Free in store shipping Just pick it up at the store.
I have used several gates and finally found one that was easy to install, no screws, stays in place, easy to take down and most of all easy only one hand to open and close the gate allowing you to enter and leave the room easily. Finish is very good, shipping was on time as promised and an excellent value for the money.
Was easy to set up, and looks beautiful with our woodwork in the stair area. Only compaint is that the door portion of the gate is small, so cannot be tied to a doorknow to keep it open, and it is spring-loaded, so it closes automatically. This may actually be desirable to some people, but for us, it's not ideal. I've been propping a bag of diapers in front of it to hold it open, so my 2-year-old can come in and out.
This is a very nice looking walk-thru gate. It is easy to set up and operate. The tension can be increased so that the gated is locked closed, but if you loosen it too much it will be unlocked and the magnet will not hold it closed. If you adjust it right, the gate will swing closed and hold. One hand is all that is needed to lift the gate slightly and open it. I use this gate for pets, not children. ***** I would NOT recommend this walk-thru gate for containing children, since they can easliy figure out how to lift and open the gate. *****
This gate actually looks attractive and is safe! It's well worth the money because we know it will hold up well enough to reuse for future kids.
We purchased this baby gate to keep our dogs out of the nursery and for that purpose, it works perfectly. It may be used later on to keep our toddler out of certain areas of the house but I think it might be easy for her to figure out how to open it. It is a swing gate that opens with a "one hand pull up" and closes automatically which is very handy. The only problem was the installation. We did figure it out but it wasn't as easy as it could have been.
The gate is great! We have one at the top of our stair case and at the bottom. The gate at the bottom of the stairs is pressure mounted to the rail and to the wall. Every now and then it comes off of the rail since the rail is round; otherwise, a great product. The gate at the top is also pressure mounted; therefore, you don't have to ruin your walls. Matches our wood. It takes two to setup and can be a hassle, but it works wonders from having to put up and take down a gate. I recommend it.
I hate all gates, but gone are the days of free flowing access from room to room. Our 1 year old finds chaos and destruction with ease; Our dog from time to time needs a "time out" This gate rocks. It looks about as good as a baby gate can, Easy to install without screws in the wall (aesthetically pleasing and easy to remove in the event we ever decide to have a party at the house again), Easy to open, VERY easy to close (it swings shut on its own). The only negative is that the Ease of Closing feature does not allow for it to stay open when the little one isn't around. We've rigged a bungi cord screwed to the wall to keep it open when we don't need a security lock down.
The installation on this gate is a little tricky. When it arrives and you take it out of the box, it will be out of square - don't worry - it's supposed to be that way. Just follow the instructions carefully, and you'll have a good looking walk-thru gate. It matches the wood trim in our living room and won't be an eyesore for the 2+ years we'll keep it up.
I bought 2 gates within 3 days, this one and a dreambaby gate. The dreambaby gate works just as described, this one does not work very well at all. It is not constructed very tough, does not close the way it is meant to, and is just cheaply made! Maybe I would not have known just how bad it was if I had not bought the other gate which works perfectly, is stronger, better quality, opens and closes perfectly. If you are shopping for baby gates I suggest a dreambaby gate! I do not know if a more expensive summer infant gate would be better or not, but I do know Im not going to waste my money to find out!
