My little girl wouldn't sleep very easily in the first week or so, and I kept trying to swaddle her in the regular blankets. She'd always get them undone. Finally I found these and bought a couple. They can be adjusted as tightly as needed. As long as they are properly adjusted my daughter does not get out of them. We use them every single night. If we don't (we forgot them once when we went on vacation), she wakes up every couple of hours. With it she sleeps 6 - 10 hours at a stretch. She is 4 months old and we don't plan to stop using these any time soon. In fact I am planning to buy her a bigger one!
I love these swaddle me blakets so much, I now have five of them! I bought one for my first daughter when she was about 4 months old, but she didn't really like being swaddled, so it didn't get used much. Now I have a second daughter and she loves to be swaddled, but she kept wiggling out of regular blankets. So I tried the swaddle me blanket and it worked great! I bought 2 small ones for her, and now that she's gotten bigger I bought 2 more large ones. These are so great, neither she nor I can sleep through the night without them!
If you ever needed anything for your sweet baby, it's this!!!!!! I still use this for my daughter and she's 5 months old. (I have used this from day 1) I just ordered a couple of size large. My little one has been sleeping through the night since she was about 8 weeks old. I have three older children and NONE of them slept through until around 1 year. Needless to say, I did not have this product with them. I buy and recommend this to everyone I know! In my opinion, for baby and you, it is an ABSOLUTE MUST!!!
What a great idea!! Perfect for swaddling baby nice and snug and will stay snug for hours!! Size small is perfect for newborns up to 3 months because of location of velcro.
I like how this swaddler has a "pocket" at the bottom that your baby's feet and legs go into. Since my little boy is a kicker this is especially helpful as it keeps his feet from getting out. It's a nice, light weight, soft, easy to use swaddler. I highly recommend it!
After trying gas drops, colic cures, different bottles, different diets, I finally found the solution to help my baby sleep and calm him down. My son is now 11 months old (8 months gestational age) and doesn't nap without being swaddled. Before purchasing a Swaddle blanket I used to use receiving blankets and duct tape (quite a picture!) and he'd still wiggle a hand out and wake himself up. The velco fastening makes reswaddling easy. I recommend all new parents with a fussy baby try swaddling. "The Happiest Baby on the Block" by Dr. Harvey Karp is also a must read.
I was shown by my Grandmother in '83 how to "swaddle" my son so he would quiet himself. Keeping an infants arms snug against their body mimics the confined space felt while still invetro. My step daughter didn't believe this until her son had cried & whined for about an hour because he was overly tired or just cranky. She brought him to me and asked if I could do anything to help. I took his receiving blanket and 'swaddled' him. Immediately he calmed and was able to fall off to sleep by himself. The Kiddopotamus requires little effort to wrap the infant and YES - it produces the same effects I got using a receiving blanked years ago, but it stays put because of the velcro fastners. This should be the first thing you pick up when invited to a baby shower!
I got this product because i had read reviews on another site, and it is truely amazing! My son (now 8 weeks) loves to be swaddled, and receiving blankets are ok, but he gets his arms moving and wiggles his way out, this is much harder for him to get out of, he has gotten his arms out a few times, but it takes alot more time and dont happen very often.
I LOOOOVE this wrap blanket. This is the second one we bought for our youngest child. Wish I knew about them years ago! The first we had was a fleece one for 0-6 months and still works amazing, but it is just a little too warm during these hot summer months to have him in it, and that's why we chose to get the lighter cotton one for the summer. It said 6-12 months I think, and our son began using it at 4 months (17 1/2 lbs) and he was a bit small for it. I just washed it and ran it through the dryer and it shrunk a tiny bit, which fits him more snugly. This blanket is awesome, and you can't beat the price anywhere! I would say we have at least 2-3 more months of use from this blanket size-wise, and maybe even longer. Great buy and would recommend to all. Oh, they work in infant carriers too. You just have to lay the blanket in first, pull the bottom strap through the slit in the bottom of the blanket, put the baby in, wrap the baby, then buckle them in.
This product makes it more difficult then it needs to be, they are so many velcros on it you don't know if your coming or going. I DO NOT RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANY NEW MOM. I' m a grandma and i taught it was going to make it easier for my daughter, I couldn't figuire it out. Pluss it took them so long to deliver to find out this was a piece of garbage !!!! sorry
