[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We installed this SwannSecurity Camera a couple weeks ago.. We have discovered a renewed sense of security having it! The camera was very easy to setup. The App was very helpful in getting it up and running. I absolutely love the features to be able to watch live views and recorded as well. The area that it covers is very wide and the clarity of the camera was great too. I have already recommended this system to many of our friends.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Wireless 1080p Security Camera was easier then I thought it would be to set up. It directs you to charge the camera with the USB charger plug provided for a few hours before using. While it was charging I decided to not use the adhesive strips because I wanted more of a secure hold, so went with the screws that were also provided and install the magnetic mounting stand in the front of my house right below my roof. I have had packages come up missing so I thought that would be a perfect spot for it. The app required to use is the swann app which was easy and simple to download and directed me step by step how to set up camera. The front of the house was also a perfect spot due to it being close to my router which gave me a better connection quality. The camera itself is a perfect size and the magnetic to hold the camera was very sturdy and durable and stayed in place well! I like that this is a wireless camera and can be relocated in my desired location, it also has a option to be but on sleep mode after a period of time which won't use up the battery as quickly, but regardless it still needs to be charged, which is not the problem for me either it charges quickly. The one concern is how easily it can be taken down by someone else other then that this camera is phenomenal it gives me a clear video day or night, has a two way audio which allows me to talk to guest, can be angled to reduce blind spots, weatherproof safe all year round, alerts me with heat and person sensing. My overall thoughts this functions and performs well, made with good quality and durability that will last a long time!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I unboxed this little gem of a camera and read the instructions. It seemed simple enough and it was! I literally picked out the location to hang it and installed it. The only tool you need is a small Phillips head screwdriver! I would suggest before installing permanently to hold it in place and look at the app to see if that is the place you want to hang it. Make sure you get everything in the area you want to see! I captured the while area I needed to watch, including my porch and my driveway. The quality of the image you receive from this little camera is outstanding! It works fantastically and it was so easy to install! I love this camera!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this Swann 1080p security camera for a few weeks now and I'm very impressed. The install out of the box was super simple. I downloaded the app and it walked me through each step and my camera was setup in less than 15 minutes. I had no problems with adding this camera to my home network. I love that there are no cables to run! When I first turned on the camera, I was so impressed with how clear and detailed the picture was! No matter what time of the day, the images are super clear and the quality is great! I like that this camera has the 2 way audio, the sound is very clear and loud. The motion detection works perfectly and alerts me immediately. This camera also offers face recognition for up to ten people which is definitely a great feature. The batteries last for quite some time and when they are running low you can easily recharge them with the provided USB cable. I have this camera outside of my home and it feel so much more at ease knowing I have the added security of this camera. I plan on buying more of these cameras to install in other areas outside of my home. If you're looking for extra security, I would highly recommend this camera!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have had a blast with these cameras. I'll start with the few negatives which is why I gave 4 and not 5 stars. I wish pics were clearer at a distance. At say 25 feet the people are pretty unclear (low resolution). I like that you can zoom in and pan the images though. Another negative is the red and blue lights that show when they are recording. These catch a person's eye which is not desired when trying to catch someone. A more detailed manual in the box would have been preferred over needing to go on the app, but I do get that a lot of people prefer online over print. Now let's go to the many pros. Loved the ability to talk to the person via the app. Great to have access to the cameras through the app when away. Images are good quality in close range. Nice feature in app to check battery life. Great display of multiple cameras, as shown in my images. Like the notifications that are pushed on my phone to let me know motion was detected. And the images at night are good. The best I've seen in a camera. Nice stickers in the box to adhere to windows and let people know your home is protected by Swann security. On this note it would be added value to have one of the signs like the hard wired security systems to catch more eyes and say 'we're watching'. Alas, it is super convenient to go into the Playback icon in the app and go through, delete, and view the videos. Voice quality is reasonable at a close distance but greatly reduced when people are further from the device. Despite the few negatives, I am still recommending these cameras. In fact I am in the process of getting Swann security cameras for a family member.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So first and foremost I was very excited to receive this wireless camera and set it up by my garden in an attempt to figure out what has been destroying my veggies when I'm not looking. Set up was very simple as it only involved downloading an app, setting up an account and making sure my wifi was connected. Then after the camera charged to 100% I linked my phone up and it was quickly working. I attached it to a metal pole above my garden at around 4:30 pm and clicked into the app about 10x checking to see what I could catch but didnt see anything. I thought maybe once it was dark they would finally get caught on camera but at 10:30 the night of set up..I logged in to find.....the camera was already at 0% and could be used. Ughhh I guess it doesn't hold charge long at all and you almost HAVE TO buy the solar charger that is sold separately. Overall the photo and audio seemed decent though. The fish eye lens wasnt my favorite but not the worst.
Not so sure about these cameras. Once setup, the camera have good film quality. but there are some issues. 1st It is a pain to setup because you have to add each camera in a long process, like each one was the 1st. Since adding to a system it could easily remember most points and just add the new one. It literally took hours to setup. And I don't mean mounting them just initial setup. 2nd: The other problem is connectivity. It loses connections to half the camera or more all the time. Some camera work, some have to reconnect. If something were going down while not connected you would never know. 3rd: Often they delay b4 recording cause you to miss to much. It starts recording as someone leaving so don't catch their face. Sometime it does but usually not. It should have a backup record to record last 30 seconds, shout even 15 would be enough. In the end I am likely to return, but I will evaluate a little longer.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently decided we wanted a camera for our front yard to prevent stolen packages and so we decided to try this camera as it has motion detectors, night vision, 180 camera and backup so you can check the video it captures. For starters the camera is a bit heavier than I expected mainly because strong magnet base is that holds on tight to the camera and allows your to put it straight are various angles without risking it falling, though I would definitely recommend you put it up with the screws that are included for a nice sturdy hold. Setting up was pretty easy but would suggest a WiFi extender if your not putting your camera near a router as it needs a strong connection to work properly and get a clear not choppy video. When it comes to the video, we have a router pretty much on the other side of our front door so there is a really strong connection so the video is really good, clear picture and you can hear everything going on outside. Honestly really shocked how good the video and sound is. Now the issues I've come across using the camera is the app has a ton of issues, it constantly disconnects from the app, it has issues viewing the camera live and I got so many alerts to the camera disconnecting from the app that I had to disable the alerts because one night it went of 30 times. Even though it's not connecting to the app I do find that the camera is still working as it will save video of people coming up to the door and leaving so it is working just not connecting to the app like it's suppose to, though I will say the live feedback seems to work more consistently after the motion sensor goes off, but considering I had to turn off the alerts thats not entirely helpful. For the most part the camera itself is good but I feel the bigger issues are with the app and not the camera itself, because like I said it is picking up video when people come up to the camera and whatnot but the app has issues connecting, so if you don't always need the live feed back it's fine, but honestly the camera would be a lot better if they fix the app issues to get it working more consistently.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The setup of the camera with the app was very easy and took about 5 minutes. The app is called Swann Security. It takes a few seconds to open up the app so there is a lag. When you want to view the live feed there is a ten second delay to view and then in terms of the video playback there is a 10 second lag as well. When you get a notification and open the live view there is a delay in that too. So overall, this doesn't respond within second. The view is wide "fish-eye view" so it captures the full room. The motion detection is very sensitive and you can adjust the sensitivity as well. I like how responsive to motion it is. The camera also allows two way communication so you can talk through it. It doesn't have a memory card slot so you cannot save any data onto it which is one of things I really look for in my cameras. The video quality is good and as expected with a 1080P HD camera. It is completely wireless so looks very clean and doesn't have a mess of tangled cords attached to it. All in all, a few setbacks which I wish did not exist.
Unfortunately too difficult to use due to too many alerts even on the lowest settings and after discussing with support staff. It has detected things that were not there and hasn't detected things that were there. Due to this the battery only lasts 2 days! Useless really, wish we had never bought it.
