I have been taking this product for over 2 years and find it to be of high quality and effective.
I have an allergy to cow's milk protein and so milk derived calcium supplements do not do well with me, and I don't get the benefit of the calcium from them and need something alternative. This stuff is suitable.
This is a great natural calcium source that includes D in the right proportion. I"ve used it exclusively since I discovered it.
I recently read about eggshell calcium and that it was the best sort of calcium to take. I started to make my own powder as have chickens but this product is so good and easy to take with added Vit D that I will stick with these capsules and not make my own anymore. Easy to swallow and very low cost - a great product.
This is the first calcium I found that does not make me itch. My nails are growing and are stronger. I just really like this product
Very affordable and in capsule form for easy digestion. Hard to tell if it's working, but trusting it is. After all it's from Swanson's.
I love that it is in a capsule instead of a pill because I have trouble swallowing. I also like that it has Vitamin D included.
I did some research on calcium, and came across eggshell calcium. There are people who used real eggshells, but that can turn out to be unsafe and unhealthy, so I thought a good alternative would be Swanson's supplement. I have only been taking a month or so, therefore my 4 star rating is based on the quality of previous Swanson products that I have used. I can say that the pill is much smaller than some calcium tablets, so is very easy to take, and because I think Swanson has quality products, I will continue taking until my next bone density test, which will be the true test of this product.
Yes, Calcium Carbonate is the type that occurs in eggshells... same with algae and all other natural sources. I've accepted that if you want natural, you get Calcium Carbonate, but I know there are better absorbed forms that come from a lab.\nRegardless, this is a great cost for the Calcium, but it would be better to have some Magnesium and other stuff to help the absorption.
I ordered it because that is what the doctor recommended. And other reviews indicated that eggshell calcium is better absorbed by the body. And it was only two pills a day. One in the morning and the other at night.
