I came to Swanson's Vitamins because of their excellent quality and price. I purchased this Korean Red Ginseng for my husband who asked me to find some which I did after reading reviews both here and on other sites. I asked him a few weeks after he began taking the Ginseng if he could tell a difference in energy and he says that he can and plans to continue with this particular brand and product. This is high praise because he went into this very skeptical. He also tends to get jittery with cold medicine since he rarely takes even an aspirin. He has had no such issues with this Ginseng.

I noticed an increase in alertness almost immediately after taking. One pill in the morning and one in the afternoon has kept me from yawning my way through the day at work, especially in the afternoons. I don't take one in the evening for fear of being awake too late.

I ordered this product for my wife which arrived ahead of time. I ordered it because it is suppose to help her be more relaxed. So far so good!
The price per gram was good but not excellent. Delivery was prompt.
I tried this korean red ginseng and have also tried the other plain Korean ginseng that swanson sells and the plain Korean Ginseng is better. It's definitely more potent. How do I know? for one thing, the red ginseng was near white and has little aroma and taste. The regular swanson ginseng has more ginseng smell and when I let the capsule melt in my mouth, the regular one has a much stronger taste than the red one. I don't know why that is since red ginseng is supposed to be more potent but for some reason, this one was not. Just get the regular one and you'll be fine.
I am a huge believer in ginseng. This was low cost and low potency. I tasted the capsule contents and it was very bland. I have some expensive Korean Red Ginseng that is from 6+ year old roots that is easy to distinguish by taste and effects from this product. I wish it were higher quality. Even though it is cheap, the price/potency ratio doesn't justify the purchase to me.
I have been using many different Ginseng products for a while. I use them for the energy, and my evaluation is based on energy level alone. This product has no noticeable effect at all. Don't waste your money. However, I just bought and am using Swanson Ultra Ginseng Phytosome standardized extract. That is some very good stuff. >30% ginsenocides and with phytosomes. You will feel it, I do and will buy again. This full spectrum Ginseng product here is not standardized and probably has <2% of the good stuff. Again don't waste your money, get the Swanson ultra Ginseng phytosome.
Red giseng is no more like it used to be, they display brown powder of giseng which people like me use to know to be effective but after you place your order and deliver you see white powder in the capsule instead of the original brown powder and this white powder capsule don't do anything, it reduces my energy. Why display brown powder capsule if you don't have it. I believe this should be investigated, they are ripping people off. My name is Stephen
