Made very well, extremely solid. I believe that Swingline came out with this big, red model because it appeared in a movie. I had one at my old work and left it there -- have missed it ever since! Happy to have a brand new one.
The weight and structure are a plus in offering durability
I am sure that this is a great quality stapler, but I found it in the clearance aisle for half price ($7) to boot. AND it's a red Swingline like Milton's in Office Space. I happened to read that Swingline brought out some red ones because there were requests for them after the movie came out and the one in the movie was a unique prop. Anyhow, I saw the red Swingline for $7 and I said SOLD!
Professional sturdy strong. Excellent weight and craftsmanship
I love the all steel construction. it remindes me of the ones they had at school years ago. They were well used and abused and kept on working. The price was certainly right. I am so happy to have gotten in on this deal. Thank you Swingline for the quality product and thank you Day-Timer for the wonderful deal.
It staples cleanly the first time. It didn't include staples. When I inserted my own staples, it wasn't clear if they laid on the surface interior bar like the mini-staplers. Then I figured out that the staples should drop on the sides to fully load. No instructions included.
it works well, but is very heavy
I love it except for the cheap silver emblem on top. Go with the classic "Swingline" on the side. Let's face it...most people buy it because of Office Space. They want Milton's Swingline.
This Swingline should come with a pair of needle-nosed pliers and a miniature flat bladed screwdriver, it is constantly getting staples stuck up in it. I have wasted over a half hour of my life freeing jammed staples from its innards. I've used cheap Office Max staples, newer Swingline staples, vintage Swingline staples from the 1990's-it doesn't matter. The stapler has never been dropped or otherwise abused. They just don't make things like they used to. The color is cool, though. :/
Cheap and didn't work....
