I wanted to find self adhesive sheets in a store to buy because I needed them fast (I found there are a lot online, not in stores), and I found this product to be great! I was leery that the roll type product versus the individual sheets might be difficult to use - I had 8 1/2 X 11 sheets to laminate that I wanted to cut into thirds after I was done. I am so glad I read the previous poor review because I too didn't understand the instructions on the packaging and if I had not gone on You tube to WATCH how to use the product correctly, I would have most likely given this product the same poor review. Once I got the hang of laminating which happened after one time that I screwed up, the product was very easy to use and laminated perfectly. I was also very pleased after laminating the full sheet that I was able to then cut the sheets into thirds, and the lamination held perfectly on each card I made! I had wanted to make these laminated cards printed on one side and a blank area on the back so they could be used with dry-erase markers to write on. They worked great with the markers, easy to wipe off, and held up well ! The only thing that didn't work for me is the "repositionable" part, the first sheet I laminated that I didn't place properly, I tried to reposition the sheet on the laminating sheet and my sheet stuck and ripped to the lamination, so I found that part to not work. So after this long review, the bottom line for me is this product worked very well, I bought an extra roll just to have on hand for when I need it!
I feel that the directions and packaging for this product are extremely misleading. The illustrated directions make it seem as if you can easily sandwich your paper between two laminating sheets that are part of the same roll, but in reality you have to measure the amount you need, cut it, and then measure a second piece to create the sandwich. It would be nice if the packaging actually made this clear so that consumers understand the process before purchasing it. Swingline, get better directions on your packaging so that it is no longer misleading and confusing.
