its very fast when it comes to surfing web! I got because it was a 3g & my plan is more expensive with 4g. I have Pandora, I heart radio, facebook any app I want for free! I was used to blackberry but this is awesome. texting is easier once you get used to it! I cant think of one negative. battery life is good. the wifi is a must. if you don't get this phone still buy one with wifi!
This phone is worth well over $150 with all of its features and potential uses. I paid $50 for this phone at walmart.com as a replacement phone for my old worn out one. You don't have to use it as a no contract phone -- I have a regular monthly service plan and am using it as a cheap upgrade for my old regular t mobile phone - Call customer service and they will move your account and phone number for free from your old SIM card to the new SIM card that comes with this new cell phone and you are back in business within 10 minutes on your new smart phone . In my case I do not have a Data plan and do not want one so I told customer service to block all tmobile data and I use this phone off of my house wi-fi and at Starbucks and McDonalds and at other free wifi hotspots. Do not expect this smart phone to be as fast or as seamless in operation as a $400 Android or Iphone but, then again you are only paying $50 and, for that low price you are getting a super value for your money.
Needed a new smart phone that wasn't "too" smart for an 84-year-old. The Prism II fit the bill perfectly. Makes calls easily, takes good pictures, good volume controls and a nice loud ringer when needed. Plus, it was about half the price of buying it directly from T-Mobile.
My poor old Nokia 6030 was on its last legs, I needed a low-cost replacement, and found the Prism II for about $55 at Walmart (it's $154 at T-Mobile). I've been using it for 2 weeks now, and now I'm encouraging my wife to buy one. I really liked the FM tuner in the Nokia, and got it with this phone. But the huge plus with this phone is the ability to make calls and read email using local wi-fi any time I'm at home or at a friend's house. Some of the other reviews indicate that you need to have MagicJack installed, and this is no longer the case. Wifi use does drain the battery faster, but it's easy to switch it off when I leave the house. I like the size of this phone. For a while, I used a Samsung S3 that my company provided, but I found it too large and awkward to use as a phone. The phone is a bit poky, but that's the flip side of having a longer battery life, so it's not a problem for me.
I got this prism II for about fifty bucks. I switched to T-Mobile for its unlimited mobile to mobile. turns out, this lower end touch screen phone exceeds my battery life expectation. unlike some higher end cellphones, this prism II battery basically lasts from morning till midnight. I also use it to talk for hours through out the day, its like battery would never be running out. if you're using it for checking email, txt and talk, this is a steal! this is an lower end model, surfing its like slow, and expect delay. besides that, I'm extremely happy with this phone.
I read mostly negative reviews about this phone and decided to give it a shot anyways. I'm so glad I did. I was using a phone that was already on a Tmobile plan and just switched the SIM card into this phone. The plastic warned me that doing this would mean that the phone would not operate properly - that was a lie. The phone works completely fine. If you're doing what I did, you also do not need to purchase a data plan in order to use this phone - just turn the data off and use wifi. I did get an extra charge on my phone bill of about $10 because the last phone I had was not a smartphone. Pros: The call quality is great, I can hear incoming calls clearly and people can hear me with no problems. Android was quite easy for me to get the hang of very quickly. I'm not a huge fan of Apple or Windows and this is my first smartphone. The layout isn't cluttered and there isn't a lot of bloatware. It has a FM radio and you can set multiple alarms! Cons: The touchscreen does sometimes have a bit of a delay when scrolling or opening apps, but not enough to negatively impact my experience. I can't complain when this phone was $53 total and Tmobile wouldn't have let me upgrade without forcing me to get a data plan with it. The speaker isn't really loud if you want to watch videos from YouTube or online. If you use earbuds, this doesn't matter. I found I can put contacts into different groups but I cannot make everyone in one group have the same ringtone - I have to give each person their own ringtone separately. Not a huge deal but this made me sad. Overall, the phone makes and receives calls perfectly, is capable of browsing the internet when I am bored, and aside from brief moments where I have no bars, it does everything I need it to - which is mainly to keep in touch with friends and family without completely draining my wallet. I definitely have had a good experience with this phone so far. My boyfriend who just got a Nokia Lumia is jealous of mine!
I am enjoying my phone and trying to get used to it. The one thing I didn't like was the Walmart site said it was available the same day I ordered and once I did order it, it became delayed with a "Rush shipping" to get it to the store within 3 - 6 days. It took a full week to get to the store and I feel that for a rush shipping that was too long. If it says it's available "now", I expect it to be available. That was my only objection. Now that I have it in my possession it will just take a bit to get used to it.
Bought one for my father and brother. Supports Android 4.1, which isn't the latest and greatest but is more than capable (supports Google Now well enough for me to respect it). Has a few neat features: supports tethering. Also neat is Wi-Fi Calling, which a) is great since in our area we get terrible cell reception half the time and somewhat reliable wireless and b) should be the standard for ALL phones nowadays. The specs aren't super impressive; you won't be able to support a lot of strenuous apps or processes (such as large games or HD video); and right now, it's having trouble working with bluetooth headsets (so far we've tried three individual ones, they each pair but can't receive or project sound). Keep these in mind if they are deal breakers. But the phone is perfect for someone who needs to upgrade to a smart phone and doesn't want to pay premium prices. My phone, the Nexus 4, is amazing but really steep in price for someone like my father and brother who wouldn't make that much use of it besides calling, GPS and texting. And forget the iPhone. I'd reccommend this to everyone (if not as a primary phone, then a backup). You won't find much better than this in regards to value.
This phone has lots of features for a reasonable price and I am very pleased with my purchase. It was a purchased because I refused to renew my contract phone and it works just as well as my old contract phone. Camera is decent. The 3G is sufficient for my needs. Battery has plenty of talk time. I have access to google play to get the latest apps and games. Thus far I have no complaints and would highly recommend this phone!
This inexpensive phone gives you about as much functionality as you pay for. It's slow to respond, in the middle of texting, the keyboard will close and sometimes the app that you're typing in closes too. It's a big change going from my Galaxy III to this phone...but if you're going to sacrifice to have a lower bill, you're mostly sacrificing quality of response and capability. It works for having something, but I'm tempted to go back to over paying just so I can have a decent phone again...On the plus side, it has a nice, bright screen. You can download a lot of apps thru Google Play, and it has good call quality.
