My wife gave me my first laptop; a Toshiba w/a 17.3in. screen; for Christmas. Over the last few months I found out just how hot these things can get. After an exhaustive search, I found this chill mat. I read reviews on it and found both pros and cons about this mat. Someone said it was too loud. I can't understand that because mine is virtually silent. I almost can't tell if it's running or not. Someone else said their computer stayed too hot even with the fans running. I experimented with this and found that if I left the mat in the flat position, my computer stayed a bit warm, but when I opened the mat to the full open position, I hardly noticed any heat at all around my computer. In fact, it felt quite cool to the touch. Needless to say, I am thoroughly pleased with this product and I will certainly recommend it to all my friends who use laptops. Oh, I forgot to mention the four extra USB ports are a major plus too. And at this price, you can't go wrong.

Something I think is really cool about this chill mat is that it has 4 USB ports so it allows me to multitask and charge other devices at the same time it also allows me to spend more time on my laptop to get more things done. Another thing I really like about this Chill Mat Plus is the durability of it with the kids using it also I must say its holding up great I recommend this Chill Mat Plus

I love that you can sit it on your lap or table and can be adjusted to multiple viewing angles. I also love that it has 4 ports to hook up my mouse, printer along with other items, if I need. I would definitely purchase again.

It is strong and sturdy, lifts my laptop nicely to a more comfortable position, has a great fan size that keeps my laptop cool at all times. I haven't had any issues with overheating whatsoever. It also has extra space for cable management. As well as a 4 port hub which allows you to charge your phone or tablets, which has definitely come in handy for me. It has helped make working on the computer long hours at a time a lot easier and especially more comfortable. I have no issues with this product at all, it's a great product and I highly recommend it.

This Chill Mat does exactly what is says it will do, keeps your laptop cool. The one and only thing I am not a huge fan of is the fans, they are a bit noisy and when I am trying to watch something or talk to someone on FaceTime it is a bit challenging to hear. I love that there are 4 USB ports so I am able to plug multiple things in and do not have to search for wall plugs or adapters. I do love the rubber pads on the bottom which prevents the stand from sliding on my table. I also am really impressed with the quality of this mat, it is a very durable plastic, so I know it will hold up for a long time. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a high quality and practical chill mat as you will not be disappointed by this one.
Older laptop overheating. Purchased this and the problem is resolved 100%. Duel fans are quiet. Also tilts the unit to a nice degree, so is better ergonomically.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Chill Mat+ is really nice! My 14 year old son takes his laptop with him everywhere. The lap board he was using before wasn't very stable and the laptop would slide off and break. Plus it wasn't the greatest for keeping the laptop cool. This Chill Mat is a great size to hold the laptop in place and you can adjust the height if you have it sitting on your lap or if you are laying down looking at it so you don't get a kink in your neck. It's nice that it has the extra 4-Port hub of USBs in the back as it requires a USB plug to run the fan to cool the lapotp, and my son's laptop only has 2 USB ports. That being said, not everything works in those back USB ports. Maybe they only work with USB 2.0 or 3.0 specific devices? Anyway, the fan works well, but it is a little bit loud and takes time to get used to. You can unplug the fan and the elevation of the laptop still helps it to stay cool, but the fan helps more. Overall, my son has enjoyed using this Chill Mat and carries it around the house. It's much more stable and secure and it's nice that it can be adjusted for the position he is using it at.

Yah it kinda serves the purpose and keeps hot laptop off my lap. But it is not as comfortable to use as it looks , the material looks kind of flimsy and cheap and I work with heavy machines , always afraid of going to break something . Fans are silent but I doubt they are working . I have recently got it ,so for now I can say If you REALLY need a cooling pad for when you are sitting on a sofa or a bed, and your laptop is overheating when sitting on your lap, then yes, may be this fits and will solve your problems. But if you're looking for a dual-use incline stand, that you can carry to a desk and continue to use as an incline stand,then would suggest to think again !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Targus - 17" Chill Mat+ with 4-Port Hub is very fancy looking, but it is kind of difficult to move the side selectors to adjust the height. I think that the styling of the chill mat could have been better. And, the fans are quite noisy. I like the rubber pads that keep the laptop from sliding, but I still worry that it might do so due to the fact the front lip is low and wouldn't keep it from sliding if the rubber pads would not secure it for some reason. So, I don't feel confident leaving it unattended. I would not suggest that anyone purchase this project until some changes are made to it.
I really liked this at first, but after a month or so, the fan on the left started to buzz horribly, so I unplugged, and plugged it back in again an hour or so later, and that fixed for a while. Then a week later it did again, so I tried the same thing, but it is only temporary and eventually it doesn't stop the noise at all. I do like the shape and the USBs work great, but I can't play games, watch videos, or even do college work when it makes such a racket.
