[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a nice and wireless laser and remote for presentations. Its small enough that it fits very nicely in my hand, it's wireless, it also has a spot to store the wireless receiver right into the base of the laser, so you won't lose it for the next time you need it. One thing to note, you will need a AAA battery to operate your laser. This works perfectly for slide presentations to display your work and the laser to point out what you want to highlight.
I was skeptical when I purchased and the sales guy said it would be easy to set -up and use. I figured there would be some problem setting it up. (Isn't there always?) Not so...it was so simple to set up and the way the USB fits into the battery compartment, the switches to select which system you would be using was brilliant. I never write product reviews but I had to in this case. It worked so well with no problems....so refreshing! Only complaint would be the hard plastic packaging for store racks. The industry really does need to find a solution for that.

The storage for the USB dongle is built in so you don't lose it. The pointer stays vivid for as far as you want to stand back. Auto-off also helps conserve the battery power. All in all it is a great tool to add to your laptop bag.
We love having two remotes. The pastor can advance power point slides during his sermon, and someone else can control during the rest of the service. It's great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm giving this laser pointer a 4-star rating, because it feels so perfect in my hand. I have another laser pointer that has a green laser, but it is a very thin design. Like a skinny pen. I've lost it a few times. This red laser presenter from Targus has an incredible form. Like I said, it fits perfectly. The plastic feels sturdy and grippy. And since it's larger, it would be very hard to lose. I like the way it hides the USB connector right next to the battery. Smart design. The connection is instantaneous on my Mac. Plug and present! The big button in the middle is just perfect. I lights-up nicely with a green ring when all buttons are enabled. There's a smaller "keylock" button on the side that disables all buttons except the main laser, so you won't accidentally change slides. When engaged, the green ring turns red. You can still use the laser, but nothing else. However, I have 2 issues. I wish the two smaller buttons for Blank Screen and Slide Show on the top were a little larger. They are very small for my big fingers. My other issue is how the battery/USB cover didn't fully snap back on to the bottom. You can see the gap in the photo. It clicks shut, but then pops open a little. That's no dealbreaker for me. I'll return this one and get another new one just like it.
I use my pointer on a MacBook Air and on my iMac (both with OSX 10.7.3) and have two issues with it: a. Once I plug the USB receiver it starts iTunes; and, b. Brings the volume of the Mac to zero and mute position, leaving on the computer screen the mute picture (not on the projected screen). Have tried to look into discussion forums to find a solution without luck. If anybody has a solution to this problem, I would appreciate you share it with us. Thanks
whenever i connect to my MacBook Air it will mute the sound and itunes will be launched. should have read the review before i got it. so disappointed.
Mac goes mute which is not good for a presentation... I can't understand why nobody tested this looking at the number of similar reviews.
I like the overall design, but the Forward button has stopped working after 18 months. Over time, I have felt the forward button lose its "click" action and it got progressively more difficult to operate, then it finally stopped working entirely. It's a shame because the unit has so many other good features, from the spare battery storage compartment to the ergonomic shape. It seems that the product designer got it right, but the engineer cut corners. I will not recommend the unit and am now shopping elsewhere for something more durable.
