The TLC Air conditioner unit has some pretty nice features that the older models do not have. It can be controlled , with a remote, manually, or you can download an app on your cell phone, connect the AC unit up to wi-fi & control it right from your phone or tablet! The other really nice bonus that that may seem simple to others, but was the greatest thing to me, was that it comes with all of the installation materials you need. That means no hassle in waiting until after you get it, measure & then running around to stores purchasing install materials and hoping you got the right stuff… They take the guess work out of the installation. I really appreciate that small but important bonus! The AC unit looks and feels sturdy. It is a little on the heavy side, and we needed two guys to install. It fits the window snugly and as directed. It cools a small room (10' x 12' or 150 sq. ft) comfortably and has 3 cooling and fan speeds. You can adjust the air direction in 8 different ways. The temperature readout is digital, which I prefer and has a large LED display that is easy to see from afar. It comes with a limited 12-month parts and labor warranty, but you have to send to them if they can't talk you through it over the phone and you will have to cover the shipping cost to and from TLC. All & all, I think it is a pretty quiet air conditioner and the noise would not bother me if it were in my bedroom. Lots to like about this small room AC. Simple yet effective!
This is my first experience with a window unit with a remote. Since this is mounted in my room that comes in handy waking up and bring a bit too cool, no need to get up. It does a good job cooling more than just my room. I can leave my door, and the adjacent bedroom door open. And, it cools both rooms plus most of the back section of my house. The unit is fairly light, and made for easy installation. This will be a big help come the hottest part of summer. Will be less stress on our main 15k btu now it doesn't have to cool that section anymore.
I have the air conditioner unit in my window the day I got it yeah I believe it's three days it's been in three or four days anyway it runs great I love it I love the controller That came with it now my room is finally cool not hot and sweaty I got blinds coming in for the other side of the window on Friday I am very happy how it everything is going and I'll let you know later on how it's going to keep up on the post. One more thing so far it's a good little air conditioner and it's good for a small rooms Little AC small room perfect and you get a controller
The TCL 5,000 BTU Window Air-Conditioner with Remote is quite attractive. The installation and operating instructions are clear, concise and easy to follow. The installation only took about ten minutes until cold air was blowing into the room. The installed unit blended into the background and most people are not even aware of the presence of the Air-Conditioner. This Air-Conditioner is quiet down to the whisper level. There are two sets of controls with which operate this unit. The first is located on the left front of the unit itself and the other control set is located on a provided remote control. The controls are intuitive and easy to understand. Using the remote I operated each button and obtained a proper response. Batteries for the Remote Control are provided with the Air-Conditioner. The unit has multidirectional louvers to control which direction the cold air is directed. The TCL 5000 BTU Window Air-Conditioner with Remote has plenty of capacity for a medium size room and with all the features it provides offers a lot. The Air-Conditioner simply does all that it is supposed to do and quietly.
The TCL 5,000 BTU Black window air conditioner with remote, is awesome in many ways. It fits in a window perfect, it is not noisy, it has various settings to use that best fits your needs. It is very easy to install, and I would highly recommend it, living in Louisiana, the humidity is horrible, this unit will make my spring and summer so much cooler. 110 plug, it also comes with a felt strip and foam to insulate it as well. The remote is user friendly, it also has a display option to turn the display off while in use. The filter is very easy to remove. This window unit is perfect for me and my home.
This AC arrived in perfect order with all parts included for easy install. Anyone with a window AC knows. there is some bulk knows. This type of AC really needs 2 ppl if you are an elder or small person, 2 ppl are needed. I am both, so I enlisted hubby to help. lol. Actual installation is fairly easy. The accordion panels on the sides, made it a good tight fit. Bracing rails on top and bottom, made it an easy fit, I first turned it on before placing it in my window, due to the weight. It started right up. AND IT WAS QUIET!!!!!. Never had one this quiet before. I love the remote control it comes with. That former stance in front and getting blasted with the temps and fans until you get the correct setting for yourself, is a thing of the past. I really like the digital part. There are enough settings to ensure comfortable operations. Fan, Ac, high, low, eco etc.... This is made for a small living room or bedroom. My living room and kitchen are open and connected. It did cool it down, but worked much better in the bedroom. That was a smaller room with less traffic. However, I used the fan while it was in the kitchen, to allow the outside air to cool the kitchen down. Worked like a dream. We finally decided to keep it in the bedroom for a place to spend in total comfort. Altho the weather has not been super hot, our mobile home tends to stay warm with direct sun on that end. This AC is small enough to put on a small cart and move where needed.
The TCL 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner with Remote is for use in a 10 x 12 foot room, approximately 150 square feet. It is designed to fit in a standard double-hung window. Installation was fairly simple but needed some improvising and workout with my particular window. Attaching the top rail to AC unit and mounting (fitting) the unit into the window was not an issue as it is done by hand tightening with a screwdriver and some minor lifting. The instructions recommend two people to install the AC unit. One person can lift it into the window, close the window down onto it, and be able to work on front-end (lock frames, sash lock, and screws) without it falling out of the window. With our window, we were not able to get the exact desired tilt of ¼ inch for rainwater to pour off, but it was close. Hopefully, water will not back into the window when it rains, which is why the tilt is important. While we secured the screws into the window by drilling into the metal frame, we were not able to fit the sash lock for an even more secure fit; therefore, we improvised with window locks of our own. There seemed to be some air escaping through the filler panels when it was windy. Some foam insulation panels that are not included with this model probably would have fixed that. Additionally, more foam/sash seal was needed then given and we had to resort to our own, especially on the bottom of the unit because there was a gap we had to fill. Again, installation was straightforward to a degree, but needed a bit of improvising if the window is not to the standard of the AC unit. Regarding operation of the air conditioner, it is very easy to operate and having a remote (two AAA batteries included) is definitely helpful especially by the bedside in a bedroom. The unit is not quiet, but I think the noise level is fairly typical of window units. There are several modes of operation from auto, cool, Eco, dry mode (to remove humidity) and you can adjust fan speed as well. What I really love about this unit is the option of pressing display on the remote to switch all lights and LED display on or off. This is great in the bedroom, because it really gets annoying when there are bright little lights on in a room when you are trying to sleep. Overall, this is a good basic AC unit, which does a fine job cooling a room once you get past the installation part.
It gets pretty hot and humid over here on the North Coast during the summer time and having an air conditioner unit isn't actually needed but it's really handy to have one of these little things. It's pretty easy to install you just have to make sure you have the correct windows. I was lucky and didn't realize you need to have Windows that open up to the ceiling in order to put this in. Most of my windows open to the side and I was able to put it in the one window that did open upwards. It's pretty heavy so when you install it I recommend having two people to be able to hold it in the place while you install the little wings on either side of the unit that keep it's secure and the window sealed. The flaps were pretty easy to install. It plugs into a typical plug like everything else does which was good it doesn't require any extra adapter or anything like that. It does make a little bit of noise but when you think about the comfort you get by the temperature and humidity change in your home a little tiny noises nothing. It's really nice to have the remote as well so you can sit in the comfort of your chair and change some of the settings on the unit if you so wish without even having to get up and change any dials.
I received the TCL 5,000 BTU Window Air Conditioner in Black for a non-biased review. It has a sleek design for a portable air conditioning unit and has a nice selection of controls. I have never seen an air conditioning unit like this. It has worked well in my small work building. I have a wood burning stove, but no air conditioning until now. There is a power button to turn the unit on and off. Then there is a fan speed button to adjust speeds from auto to low, medium, or high. The mode button allows you to choose from auto, fan, dry, and cool. The auto mode will switch between cool, dehumidifier, and fan modes. There are two arrow buttons (up and down) in order to increase or decrease temperature or to increase or decrease timer time. Having a timer is extremely convenient. For myself, I can time the unit to turn on right before I plan to work in the building each day. For others, you could have the unit turn on right before bedtime if you only used the unit for sleep. It is a 24 hour timer. There is also an eco mode button that conserves energy by turning the compressor off and on. Another huge benefit is the remote control. No more getting up out of bed, or for me, getting up from working to adjust or turn the unit on or off. The sleep mode would be great as well if used it in a bedroom. If the sleep mode is used, the temperature will automatically raise by 1.8F every 30-60 minutes. The remote control has all the options of the unit and works well. I am very happy with this versatile air conditioning unit.
I love the black finish on this TCL air conditioner. I installed the TCL air conditioner by myself So the installation was easy with good instructions and came with all the needed hardware.TCL 5,000 BTU AIR CONDITIONER is for a small room but I installed it in our large bedroom. Bring out the blankets because this unit puts out some cold air and has no trouble cooling our large bedroom.TCL window air conditioner comes with a remote and remote is easy to navigate. ( REMOTE COMES WITH BATTERIES). TCL air conditioner is not loud at 70 but lowering the temperature to 69 it gets a little loud. Window air conditioner units usually don't come with enough installation and with TCL air conditioner I had to purchase more to cover all the air pockets. Overall it is a good unit. I have another room upstairs with black walls and carpet that another unit would go great in.
